My Samsung model HLS6187WX/XAA tries to come on by itself. There is no picture but the standby, lamp, and timer buttons are blinking then the standby turns red. I can't get it to turn on to see a picture. outback217

Two things to do in order: remove and inspect lamp to see it is not shattered inside-----with it out also inspect the color wheel that faces it to see it is not shattered or missing pieces.
Hello, I try to help. But your questions not spesific. Below are conditions lamp indicators that appear blinking and solutions (for samsung) :
1. If Timer and Lamp blinking --> Auto timer on/off was been set, picture will appear ~ 25 second. 2. If Timer and Standby/Temp blinking --> A cooling fan inside the set is not operating properly. 3. If Lamp and Standby/Temp blinking --> The lamp cover on the rear of the set is not installed properly.
2 defective parts can cause this symtom 1, the lamp defective 2 color wheel, if you have a lamp for more than 2 years may be the lamp if not the color wheel is defective also check the timer on the tv may sure is disable.
If the lamp and standby lights are both flashing and the timer light is off, check that the lamp cover on the back of the TV is properly positioned in the groove and secured by the screw. Take it off and check that the screws that hold the lamp itself are secure. There is an safety feature that keeps the lamp from turning on when the lamp cover is off.
If the three lights (timer, lamp, and standby) are blinking, then the lamp needs to be replaced. If the timer and standby lights are blinking and the lamp light is off, then a cooling fan isn't working. When only the standby light is blinking and the other lights are off, the unit is overheating and a ventilation area may be blocked.
sorry Im so late. do not replace bulbs if u just had a nice clear bright picture!!!! stress this!!
indicator lights blinking "scream help I am shut down" normally due due to a short...and worse possible is the high voltage went bad, 2nd the power supply itself drooped a voltage or shorted.
good luck ..... I wish I was there to check it out with just an ohm meter.
