The problem is a cracked spindle on the back of the drum. It most likely also tore up the grey plastic front shield. The only thing to do is throw the machine out sine the drum cost parts onle is over $400 for drum, and over $400 for the front plastic.l

Ftf530es knocks during spin cycle

Good Afternoon Amy,

I understand that your Frigidaire washer, model# FTF530ES, knocks during the spin cycle. I also see that the drum moves from front to back and not up and down. I suggest making sure that your washer is level from front to back, side to side, and from corner to corner. If after leveling you washer, the drum is still moving from front to back, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your washer and determine why the drum is moving from front to back. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Duet Washer rattles and knocks when spinning

you either have a broken shock or the spider gear is gone, take off the bottom panel and check out the shocks,if it's the spider gear it's time for new washer,it's around 500 bucks for new gear,to much detergent used over the years eats at the metal

Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P knocks when spinning

I had that problem while the washer was under warranty. Luckily my neighbor is a repair man. He removed the front cover just under the door. There are shocks under the barrel that keep it aligned. One of mine was damaged and the barrel became misaligned. Check that area, that might be your problem. Good Luck!
