Top loader Maytag washer cannot balance load

Top loader Maytag washer cannot keep load balanced. Washer shakes and moves acroos the floor. I have tipped the washer foreward as per balancing instructions. It seems perfect, no movement but when running a load the tub rocks and sways until the clothers move oujt of balance then the machine shakes during the spin cycle.

The shock absorbers that hold the tank are broken. Then the load will move the washer all over the place.
Look online for an exploded diagram and order the new shocks for it

Washer has been shaking ever snice it was moved to have new floor installed.

Most likely your washer is not balanced evenly on the floor; get a level and level the washer accordingly. You can use shims to get it leveled. Also Home Depot or Lowes Home Improvement stores have something called Vibration Pads. I would take care of it before using your washer again since the shaking might cause problems to the actual washing machine.

During spindrying the WFT9230TP shakes violently although the feet are all pressing tightly against the floor.

The clothes must be balanced inside the drum in order to stop the violent shaking. Unlike a front loader, the top loaders must be balanced before starting the load.

If you need more assistance, let me know.

GE Front Load washer shakes whenever any type of load is put in. GE service has been out at least 4 times and say that its fine..perfectly level, etc

All front loaders shake to some extent. It depends on the balance of the load. It is especially evident in the spin cycle due to the high speeds. Also these machines are best placed on a solid cement floor. They can shake an entire house if on the first or second floor and the floors are not well reinforced.

My Maytag goes out of balance and bangs loudly

This is usually due to the floor not being perfectly level, and as a consequence the washing machine not standing firmly on all 4 supports.
There should be at least 2 adjustable feet under the machine, try to make it stand as level as possible, with uniform load on all four.
If you have a bubble level it may help you establish, if there's an obvious slope on your floor and adjust the machine so that it's well levelled.
Good luck!

I have a maytag top loader washer and when it is on the spin cycle the whole drum shakes hitting the walls of the washer

Without having the model number, it is difficult to diagnose.

Most Maytag / Whirlpool top loaders use a set of balance springs and friction pads to buffer the shaking.

Here is a Whirlpool site with a number of PDF files on their products including troubleshooting sections.

Find your washer under laundry products and open the PDF, it will probably take a few minutes to load.

Washing machine

hope this helps, don't forget to rate me thanks

Try leveling the washer. Check for play along the diagonal corners of the washer cabinet by applying downward pressure. If there is any play at all, the washer will shake during spin and the legs must be leveled.

You have br put your heavy washer on a floor that would be condemned for structural weakness if a building inspector saw it. Try placing reinforcing pads or pieces of plywood on the floor under the washer.
On Maytag top loaders: worn damper pads.
On Whirlpool/Kenmore direct-drive machines: worn snubber pad

Washer tub goes off balance every time and washer walks!

there may be a possibility here of the centre hub being worn or the liner tub bearing being worn due to the age of the machine.. here is a list and diagrams of the parts you may need and can get from here:-
http://www.easyapplianceparts.com/MultiModels.aspx?ModelNum=mat13mn&searchTerm=img_CW17-6&RefineSearch=0&imgMfg=Maytag

try to check for slackness when the tub is empty causing a rocking/slapping motion whilst empty. if the tub is used regularly and to its maximum capacity then the likeliehood is these bearings/hubs may need to be replaced.. the "walking" across the floor will be accented by the amount of items plus water in the tub. and if the tub is off balance, then this will be more highlighted when also full of water and items... if you feel this is over the top, then try to lighten the load that is in the tub at any given time. this will determine weather the bearing has indeed worn .the lighter the load, the less "walking the machine should do in cycle.. the only time walking would be unchanged is during the spin cycle, when the speed is of a constant one and it will vibrate at the same rate. placing it on a rubber mat is not a solution but just something that will make you hopefully think it is solved
and you may as well just bolt the machine to the floor and hope for the best

Walking during the spin cycle

Try placing it on a rubber mat or carpet that has a rubber backing. The floor may be too smooth and allows it to walk.
