This voice recorder have auto power off function so does not have particular power on-off button, press play/ record to turn on and leave it for some time to turn off automatically.

battery corrosion can be a killer. If the corrosion has gone past the battery compartment, you have little chance in repairing the unit your self. You could send it to Sony. Before disposing of the unit, try to spray some contact cleaner on the circuit. Cheers.
That is NOT the 64 bit vista driver. At least my Vista 64 will not find the ICD-P320. The Digital Voice Editor installs fine, but the driver does no. Even going to the downloaded folder with the drivers and executing the setup for it does not work.
While playing a recording, press the erase button twice. That will bering the number of recording down by one. Do the same until you get zeros on the display.
