Need to know procedure to clean Kenmore Series 80 filter

there is NO filter in a washer,use a refresh washer cleaner to smell good,

Check for blocked pipes below tub and exit drain hose, after disconnecting mains; no filter as such. OR

Remove the agitator and check the shaft seal underneath the plastic drive block at the top of the shaft. Move the shaft in different directions to check the condition of the top bearing. If none or very slight, replace the seal at the top of the shaft supporting post. Clean any grease that is outside of the seal when you are done. Be sure to not damage the seal surface on the shaft when removing/replacing the seal and pre-grease the new seal's inner lip before installing.

There may be a screen in the inlet pipe where it joins the back of the machine. Also check that the inlet pipe is clear and running water correctly before connecting it back on the machine. If this is OK you may have an issue with the inlet valve not opening fully. This is quite a common issue and will need the inlet valve repalcing.

take off the cold water line from the valve on the wall. be sure and turn off the water first. the screen on the hose end may be plugged with rust or some debris.

I've got a Kenmore 70 Series, Model # 82370120 washer and the lint filter in under the machine. I had to tip the thing over to get at it.

Try cleaning out the exit filter which is usually under a swinging flap at the front of the machine. If it isn't there it will be somewhere easily accessible. This should be cleaned every 2 weeks. Also the outlet hose could be blocked with a build up of debris and soap that gets stuck over a period of time.
