Scanned documents are very fuzzy ( not readable) even when set on 600 dpi. What can I do? I had a F50 and had no problems.

SOURCE: how to set machine to receive incoming fax?

Receive a fax
You can receive faxes automatically or manually. If you turn off the Auto Answer option,
you must receive faxes manually. If you turn on the Auto Answer option (the default
setting), the device automatically answers incoming calls and receives faxes after the
number of rings that are specified by the Rings to Answer setting. (The default Rings to Answer setting is five rings.)

Here is the user guide: see page 55

SOURCE: Can't use the fax on my Canon MP 530

There are 2 ports on the rear, 1 for the incomming phone line, and one to plug in a telephone handset (passthrough) if the telephone line is plugged into the wrong port, the fax machine is unable to dial properly, So try plugging into the other port on the back, it's just next to the other port hope this helps

SOURCE: Cannot receive faxes on Canon Pixma MX870, but can send faxes

There is also a setting for the ring pattern that the unit uses to identify a fax. Set it to match the incoming ring.

EX: I have a single line and hook up the printer only when I am expecting a fax. I had to change the setting from double ring to NORMAL before it would pick up.

Whenever i send a fax, the machine confirms by viewing 'TRANSMITTING OK' but the addressee receives a blank document

Check the baud rate of your transmissions. Slow them down to the slowest setting and send a test fax to a helpful person. Slowly increase the baud rate (communication data speed) and send the fax test. When the fax doesn't show up on the receive site, then step one baud rate speed back, and save the setting.

It could also be your fax that is faulty, or even the receive sites fax, also being faulty.

To test your copy-head, insert a document into your loading section of the fax and press copy. If the copy prints out fine, then you know the head is reading correctly.

It is also possible that the receiver fax (the other end) has a printhead failure.

I just don't know how; do I just push the fax button when the phone rings or do I have to have a separate number for the fax machine? Sounds stupid, I know, but do I also need to block voicemail from...

Set the fax machine to Manual Receive. Set your answering machine to 4 or 5 rings. When the phone rings, pick it up, if you hear the chirping of a sending fax machine, press the Start Key on the fax and then hang up. The two faxes will communicate and you will receive your fax.

We have two fax machines hook up to one dedicated fax line. When we send a fax from wither machine it is not faxing to the phone we fax it only sends the fax for the second fax machine that is in our...

Yes, you must set up your fax machines like this: The receiving fax must be set to auto receive and the telephone line must be inserted in the "line" input. A line must then be connected from the "Tel" to the "Line" of the Transmitting machine, which must be set to "manual receive." This is not really a satisfactory way of doing things as you can't send and receive 2 machines on the same line together. A much better way is to have 2 lines. with a machine attached to each. Get the tel company to put "No answer transfer" on the line as an accesory. Give them the number of the fax machine that transmits. Make it "manual receive" Now you have a versatile system that you can also use the office telephone with.

Unable to receive faxes. Able to send and cartridge printing OK

There can be a few things wrong lets take it step by step
1)Receive mode, your receive mode must be set correctly. If you don't have a tel connected to it, you cant use it as a Manual receive mode,it must be set on Fax only.If there is a telephone connected to it and it is set on manual mode make sure your Incomming ring is set to ON,you will find it under additional functions,RX settings,Incomming ring.

2)Make sure you have enough memory to receive a Fax.Go additional function, dataregistration,TX settings,Erase failed TX,set it to on.

3)Make sure there is enough toner and paper for the machine.

4)Tone or Pulse Dialing, depents in witch country you are make sure it is set correctly Tone or Pulse. You will find it under user settings.

5)There can be a problem at the you local exchange, you can send faxes but the exchange can be faulty and you would be able to receive faxes.

6)And then there can be a problem with you fax machine' NCU PCB board, there is to gas arresters one for send and the other for receive. If one of them are faulty you will have to replace the NCU.The gas arresters is not available as a part.

Cannot recieve or send faxes

Check out the Easy Setup Instructions available here. If you can neither send nor receive faxes, you may not have the phone line connected to the correct port, see page 34 of the guide. Also check what receive mode the machine is set for. Pages 42 and 43 explain the different options and how to change the receive mode.

Not receiving any faxes but sending

Note: check your equipment for:
Fax machine must be connected to an answer machine

Receiving a fax automatically:
1 Make sure the Fax Auto Answer light is on.
2 To set the number of telephone rings before the printer automatically receives faxes,
Receiving a fax with an answering machine
When a telephone ring is detected, the answering machine picks up the call.
If the printer detects a fax, it receives the fax and disconnects the answering machine.
If the printer does not detect a fax, the answering machine receives the call.
2 Set the answering machine to answer incoming calls before the printer does.
For example, if you set the answering machine to answer calls after three rings, set the printer to answer calls
after five rings.
3 To set the number of telephone rings before the printer automatically receives faxes.

Cannot receive faxes, but can send

Hello,
I can send faxes from my HP Fax 1010, but cannot receive them. I can dial the number from another phone but it will keep ringing and the machine never picks up. We have tested the phone line and all seems well. Is there some setting on the fax machine itself that I need to change in order to receive? Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hp 5610 won't receive fax from lexmark fax

Are you able to receive faxes from others from the same location, if not just ask her to consult her service provider and ask to get the no checked of yours why is it that you she is not able to send fax to you only as your fax machine is capable of sending and receiving fax from others it should be dsome issue with her service provider.
If it was your All-In-One printer thrn you should not have received faxes from any one, not a specific number.

Good Luck
