My Acer One Aspire is stuck in hibernate. After it updated itself and said it was preparing to shut down, it was stuck in the preparing for shut down mode for hours. When I let the battery run down to turn it off, the only way to do so, it is now stuck in the hibernate mode when I plug it back in.

I fixed it myself. I let the battery run down to shut it off, and when I plugged it in to recharge it I turned it on and the screen came up briefly with the message to press F8 for options. F8 gave me the option for system recovery. It restarted and everything was back to normal. I had to do the unplug, plug back in and catch the F8 message a couple of times because the F8 message is so brief. I then found there is a setting to prevent the computer from going into hibernate, and I set it on"never" so it won't do it again.. I fixed it myself.
