Phone will not allow me beyond startup

I updated the software on the unlocked w850 and now it seems to locked back up. It is asking me for the original sim card which i had in there from the beginning.

Friend, W-850 is CID based phone. You have updated it and it got it's original flash which was generated for it. Now u have to unlock it again. You see, this all are happened due to special security of CID chipset. You should not update it but when u do that now unlock it. Go to technician who got SETOOL, CRUISER BOX or any other comapitable unlocking tool. He will charge you little. Find the servicemen arround you on FIXIYA and thanks FIXIYA for solution ( Only if u find it helpful)

Please, why would you trust a bunch of WWW strangers who might use up up all your eight tries, before asking for help from the software provider?

Either way, what software? What's Your software update, please? Not from here, nor anywhere like here, it didn't.

Most obviously, a software update on your phone might have come from the phone factory, or your service provider and after them from the supplier of any app installed on your phone.

Exactly what update are you asking about, please?

W850 is a CID49 phone. There is currently NO WAY to unlock such phones that were locked at the factory for the carrier. SETool has had Limited success in unlocking phones that were locked by themselves, but further testing showed that factory locked phones are not able to be unlocked. Stay tuned, it might take a few more months before this can be done. This applies to ALL CID49 phones as I understand it - W810, K790, K800, w950, etc.

I need a free unlock code for my Nokia 6555b. How can I get one? It is locked into att.
The lock-in is part of your phone service provider contract. Breaking the lock breaks a contract and may make you (or the person that sold you the thing) target of a civil lawsuit.
However, if your contract is beyond its bind-in period, you can ask AT&T for the unlock code, or they may unlock it for you for a small fee. Expect them to make a counter offer instead (new phone, SIM locked again at discount price).
Some providers allow a buy-out of the SIM lock. Fees depend on the remaining contract time and contract conditions.
Of course, you need to provide proof of ownership, they won't unlock phones that got lost or are stolen.

I have a w850i and the sceen shows emergency calls
1. It's a common problem with Sony Ericsson W850 phone!

2. It displays the 'Emergency Calls Only' message even the network is available. (Mainly due to the change in the frequency of the signals!)

3. You should try to update the phone OS/Firmware.

4. If it don't helps try to reinstall the OS software!

Accidentally locked my razor keypad
If you have not previously set a security/lock code, when it asks you to input the unlock code, enter in the last 4 numbers of your cell number. If that does not work, you can use 0000, 9999, or 1234. Those are most common used default codes. If that doesn't work, see if your phone will allow a network update with *228 or *22899 followed by the send button. If a network update goes through, that will usually reset the code back to default if you had ever changed it, then try the last 4 of your cell number again.
