I have this model of LCD TV. I want to open its hidden menu/service menu. Please anyone tell me how to open it?
Thank of you but i need access to menu service please help me
please mail key to access to menu service
thanks of you
You need introduce <CR> at the end of the string
The service menu contains nothing that the average consumer needs to get into. We technicians don't use I would say 99% of the service menu items. I would stay out before non reversable damage could happen.

We are a software company. We are developing an application to communicate on serial ports with LG LCD TV; model number RT-42LZ30. The application is using RS232 communication standard. The idea basically is to control the functions of LCD with a PC. PC will send commands through RS232 serial ports to LCD to perform different tasks e.g switch on, off, volume level etc.
”
we have consulted owner’s manual. We are setting up everything as this manual says. We are presenting you all the parameters we have used in this task:
· We are setting communication parameters as under:
Baud rate : 9600 bps (UART)
Data length : 8 bits
Parity : None
Stop bit : 1 bit
· We have tried D Sub 9 Pin both( 7-configurations crossed and 3- configurations crossed) cables to communicate with PC connecting female side with PC and male side with the LCD.
· From the LCD menu we have set the “Set ID” to 1 as described by the manual.
· We are using the same format of commands written in the manual. For example to power off the LCD we are using “ka 1 0
But when we send command on the port, neither any response comes nor any effect on the LCD occurs. We have checked the “DSR” and “CTS” pins after connecting with the LCD, but they are false.
Furthermore, we have used the same parameters and cable for PC to PC communication, everything goes fine. Also “DSR” and “CTS” pins are true.
Besides our application, we have tried many built and tested applications from the internet. For example you can consult one and download trial version from:
http://www.mpsav.com/MPS_CommTester/MPS_...
We are sure that there is no issue in the software because there is no communication through HyperTerminal(a windows XP built-in serial communication tool found in Programs->Accessories->communications->HyperTerminal).
We have searched from the internet that the port should be enabled from the service technician’s menu to make it work. This is its link:
http://www.girder.nl/forums/showthread.p...
But this link tells about some other model.
So Please tell us how to open the service technician’s menu and enable the port or guide us if we are doing something wrong in our process.
i have the same problem, do you resolve this? do yow have the solution?

When I turn on my TV with my ATT&T digital box the Home Menu opens. After exiting, 1 minute later the Home Menu opens up and it continually opens every 1 minute.
