Is there a reason why my Emerson CD Player won't play a CD-R disc that I downloaded music on when it has played these types of CD's before? It keeps flashing 'ASP' on the side of the time amount recorded on the CD, and it shows "01 11:34" when I put the CD in to play. I can't even fast forward through it. It works fine with other CD's though.

Buy a CD Lens Cleaning Disc from Walmart. Run that a couple of times. If that doesn't fix it send it back.
Oh, it a portable Sony Disc Player clone. That means it has to be 15 years old or more. Actually, I found the date '18/6/2007'. It's a new 14 year old device that has been in storage. Emerson are a bargain basement brand and generally lack quality..
check and see if the dvd player needs to be cleaned. you can pick up contaminates from other dvd's or cd's get yourself a dvd disk cleaner and run it thru seveveral times . and try to play your money then.
Hi, First make sure yoou are using correct cds. You need CDR Audio discs not blank pc media type (Yes they are different). Once you have the disc type right, make sure you are finalizing the disc as they will not play in other machines until u do this
Probably both will play a cd but sure that one will only record a DVD -/+ or a CD and the DVD recorder will play DVD's. If the CD player is a DVD player it will play DVD's and CD's but not record.
you have to use the disc that your player came with, you have to reformat the videos to the specific type that your emerson supports, im having the same problem with my new emerson, i believe it only suports, avi mp4 and one other type? refer to the manual it came with
To resolve this issue, try one or all of the following:
The
Wave® music system is designed to play commercial CDs, CD-Rs,
MP3-encoded CDS and CD-RWs. If your system has trouble playing MP3 CDs,
make sure the discs were recorded with compatible formats. See Cannot play MP3 CDs
The system may not be able to play certain CD-RW discs. Playability
is dependant on how the disc was recorded, including the format it was
recorded in and the actual disc used for recording. Note: iTunes
defaults to AAC as the encoding format. In order to use iTunes to make
CDs that will play on the Wave® music system, you’ll need to change the
format to MP3 How to Choose Import Options
Different brands of CD-Rs and CD-RWs use different materials which
may affect the ability of a player to read them. If you are burning
your own CD-Rs or CD-RWs, experiment with different brands of discs
If a commercial disc won’t play, check for scratches, fingerprints
or other physical damage. Try the CD in another player. If it still
won’t play, there may be a problem with the disc
Reset the system by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for one minute, then plug the system back in
There's a cd that comes in the package, put it into your computer and look at the guide on thier. If this doesnt work contact me, or professional help!
media player needs configuring, select all file types.reason it wont find songs previosly burned is probably because burned as compilation and not finalised.you can download a player called VLC (for free)it will play any file type a lot of which media player cant.whatever media you have it'll play
Many of the older Car CD Players will not play CD-R's or they may with static sounds behind the music. What you need to do is try using a different brand of cd-r disc. If this doesn't work then it means that you may need to replace the CD player because the model that you have may not be decoded in order to play CD-R, CD-RW, play MP3's or anything of that such.
Get back to me if this doesn't work I'll help you square it away.
