It can be dirty or faulty disk,but if that's not the case the problem relates to cd player lens.Its not reading the disk.The inside lens which reads and detects the cd is either got dirty or its faulty and unit has to be replaced.-------So whether is dirty lens or faulty that can be confirmed once the unit is inspected.Try running lens cleaning cd in your cd player unit and see if that is helping.========For more help i suggest refer the help links mentioned below:------

usually a blown fuse will shutdown your radio until u get a new fuse so im not thinking fuse.... is the laser that reads cds is that clean???? if unsure they make cds with brushes on the bottom of them and as u put them in it brushes off that laser as the cd with brushes spins. or even simpler just try blowing out the inside maybe its just dirty or a cheap radio. cheap radios cause a lot of problems.... hope i helped....... You have to put the radio code in to get to work you will find it in the owners book.

gota swing by the dealer and they have to put a security code in. its the only way i know how to do, the put the tech 2 unit on the car and do

I think you need a new battery.
Replace it and the radio will probably reset ok when you input the code..

I have come to find out that in the 90's auto makers started installing factory amplifiers in their cars so they could use low wattage stereos in the dash. It's usually a blue wire off the stereo that runs the amp, maybe it couldve become disconnected? I also know that even if you put in an after market stereo, this wire must be hooked up or you'll get no sound from the speakers. hope this helps.

If you buy another factory radio it'll need the unlock code to work with your factory alarm system. But if you go with an after market radio it'll work just fine, your alarm will just think there's no radio installed.

06 expedition 6 cd player and having the same issues,,, Disconnect battery and all 6 cd are stuck inside. "Error cd" shows when pushing eject. Looked everywhere and nothing shows how to fix it. I dont want to buy another radio/cd player for something that ford should know and how to fix?
