Have you tried changing TV channels to "03" or "04"? for external input.

had you tried to other tv? if the problem is still on, its the childs unit not the tv.

check to see if you have B+ to the horz.output transistor.
also you may have bad solder connections on the countdown osc. ceramic resonator.

you may have bad solder connection in the horiz.countdown section.
you may also have a GEM Star module bad.

check for bad c14505 220mf.
or u14501 vertical output ic.

you may have a problem with the vertical output IC.
