Sounds as though you have a video problem. It may be the convergence chips. The TV is shutting down do to a default in the circuit ( the set knows there is an error of somekind so it shuts down to protect itself). This is a problem that needs a pro trouble shooter since it could be in about any board. Sorry I couldn't help more

TV screen went negative. Brand new TV

I would use the warranty for this problem. The part that need to be replaced can be somewhat expensive.
With the credit card statement, you can use that as a receipt.

Ibm netvista shuts down on start up

1. if possible check and see how dusty the system is inside.. used compressed air cans to dust it off.. don't touch any components... watch esd so ground yourself while you're at it
then test
2. you're power supply may be dying: ground yourself to the same ground as the computer (watch for esd) and replace the powersupply.
then test.
the keyboard or controller may be damaged, check for resource conflicts in your bios related with keyboard (make sure no other items are using the same irq's.. check plugs, test with other key board.. replaced motherboard.
random shut down could also mean that the cpu is overheating.. make sure the cpu fan is undusted and working.

Lg 32lc2r, only showing picture in black and white

Make sure that the color control level is set to the default or 50% to start with. This should be in the Video menu.

The colour for the tuner and for the encoded base-band video uses a circuit area called the colour demodulator. It is possible that this cirucuit area has failed and needs servicing.
