did you get your phone wet? same thing used to happen to my samsung prevail when i accidentally dropped it in a bucket full of water, after maybe 3 days of it doing that (showing logo, then black screen) it finally died, i put a brand new and charged battery but it didn't work, my friend who works for sprint, told me smart phones sometimes "burn out" meaning they overheat and eventually give out... I just bought me a new one when he told me that, cause I did use it alot and it did tend to overheat. Check your battery for any leakage, for some reason mine was...

Probably a charge issue, try this:

1. Connect the reader to the computer for 15 minutes (make sure there is a red steady light)
2. Disconnect the reader and press the reset at the bottom
3. slide the power switch to turn it on
4. If the problem persist you will need to do a hard reset
5. If after a hard reset the issue is not resolve problably you will need to contact sony to get it repaires =(

Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

I left the unit on to run the battery down completely, then put it on charger and the screen was readable again.

Sounds like the charger's defective. Did it get dropped accidentally? Take both the phone and the charger back where you got it. They should fix the problem for you. Battery in the phone is probably dead and just needs charging.
