I have a ipod touch with the facebook app i go on facebook chat to talk to people and i can send messages on chat but when my friend recieves it says im offline when im not and cant recieve my message from them what do i do.

you cannot recieve pics directly to your pinger number. you need to tell your freinds to text the pics to you at [email protected]

If you've been using your computer to access Facebook, you might be interested in accessing it while you're on the go with your iPod Touch, a portable multimedia device made by Apple.
As of May 2011, Apple sells four iPod models (the Shuffle, the Nano, the Classic and the Touch), of which only the iPod Touch connects to the Internet.

Press the "Home" button on your iPod Touch, located below the screen.
Tap "Settings" on the home screen, and then tap "Wi-Fi."

Tap the icon of the pen and paper to write a new message.
Tap "Chat" to chat with friends, tap "Events" to see your events, and tap "Notes" to write a note.
Tap "Friends" to see your friends, look at friends' pages and see friends' requests.
Tap "Photos" to see your photos, and tap the plus sign at the top of the screen to make a new photo album.

Tap "Profile," then tap the camera icon if you want to upload a photo or video.

If you shot a picture, tap "Write a Caption."
Type a caption, then tap "Done." Tap "Upload" to upload the photo to Facebook.
If you shot a video, type a title and a description for the video, then tap "Upload" to upload the video to Facebook.
Tap "Choose from Library" to use a photo or video already on your iPod.
A list of your photo albums appears.
Tap an album, and then tap a thumbnail of a video or a photo.
Type a caption for the picture or a title and description for a video, and then tap "Upload."

Tap the icon of nine squares at the top of the screen to return to the list of Facebook features.

Chances are the friend to whom you are sending might be accessing Facebook via mobile. Mobile Facebook does not provide chat notifications appropriately and it depends on the device too. When you send message or chat,both are now equal in Facebook. Recent Facebook version,what it does is, it combines chat and message into message section. Whatever you chat is sent as message to the person,if that person is offline or not responding to chat. If at the time of receiving message,you are online,then you receive it in chat window. At the same time,you might see notification in Message area.

Eventhough it is to an extent confusing,either way,you can reply/chat and you get all messages. In short,your message never gets lost. It gets to your friend. If he/she cannot see it in Chat,they can definitely see it in Messages section.

It sounds like your account was hacked or an app you were using was sending spam. This is becoming more common on facebook. Your account most likely was suspended by the facebook support staff. You will need to contact them through the help page on facebook.com to see if you can regain account access.

First the message is received at the destination is indication of sucessful submission. An indication of application offline unless were in relation to the message sent is ok since persons may have disconnected. Also, the facebook chats allows to store the message as sent during the entities absence until available on the network to display what was sent.

'Appear Offline' lets you do that! Allows you to see who's signed on to Facebook Chat without having Facebook chat activated. You can poke and send Facebook messages to your online contacts from the Appear Offline page.

this is a common problem ith the facebook chat facility.i suggest you write on your friends walls and tell them to initiate the chat.

On iPod Touch second generation and above, you can use voice chat apps but you will need a microphone since the iPod Touch does not have one. You can use:
