I have Win XP, and every time I plug my Insignia Pilot (4GB) into it, my computer does not recognize it, and says I need to install the driver. It only came with software-no drivers. I looked on the company website, and drivers are only available for Win 98. Any suggestions on how to get this player to work with my computer??
I fixed it! I guess it's good that I'm not tech ****** otherwise, I'd would've only had the option to return it as Insignia's tech support response sucks *****!
Go to their site, and look up how to switch your player from MTP read mode, to MSC read mode. (They'll say it's just for MACs, but I just did it for my WinXP Notebook and it solved all my problems.)
It's really simple, and should only take 2 minutes.

Ditto. I messaged the website about the problem and they have yet to respond. If I can't figure out a resolution soon, the player is going back to Best Buy and I'm swaping it out with another one.
USB device not recognized at Windows xp PC at all.
