GE Digital Wireless Thermometer

I have a GE digital wireless thermometer and don't have a user's manual. I cannot find any information on the internet. There is an indoor and outdoor component. The part number on the indoor piece is GE5805WS5 and the outdoor piece is GE5805WS4.

My specific problem is I cannot get establish a channel for the two pieces to communicate with. I've pressed a number of combinations of buttons but cannot figure it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the exact same issue. Mine stopped working about 1/12/08. I replaced the batteries, not unlike any other time before and I can not get the receiver to get a signal from the outdoor component (transmitter).

I look forward to seeing an answer to this one. I have tried everything I can think of and there is absolutely nothing worth while on the internet on this subject.

Also have same unit with same problem Tried solutions suggested, but no luck. It sees the sensor (remote) unit is not sending a signal (I recall the lenses is supposed to have a red blink). Also, checked all batteries and their contacts...all o.k. If anyone finds a source of info (like user manual or GE source), please advise. Thanks.

I have the same exact GE Wireless Thermometer and had the same problem. The battery removal and re install in the receivers first and the sending unit next fixed my problem. Be sure not to press any buttons in the process. If you do, just remove all batteries and start over.

  • DaveBlat Aug 31, 2008

I had the same problem getting the receiver to respond to the transceiver. I followed the recommendations of names1010 with the additional step of pressing the CH button one time before installing the batteries on the transceiver........and that did it.

  • wayne_e_day Nov 22, 2008

I had the same problem, and removing batteries from base unit, pressing the CH button, and reinstalling solved the problem.

Step 1. Put batteries in Thermometer than in the receiver, after this while on the thermometer the temperature leds are blinking press and hold the TX button on the back of the receiver. *You have to remove the screws to get to the TX button*. I'm currently waiting for it to get the next reading though.... I don't know how fast it updates, but it does now show Channel 1 and the temperature.

Aparently there is a problem with it. Tried putting the batteries into the thermometer than quickly into the sensor and it took the connection.

(hold 3 sec to erase)
Clear................clears memory in Min/max display
Back of unit:

INSTALLING BATTERIES
IMPORTANT:Read the section SETTING UP THE THERMOMETER before installing the batteries for the first time.

1.Remove the rear cover of thermometer. Install 2 new AA batteries. Replace battery cover.
2.Loosen 4 screws on rear battery cover of the Remote Sensor and slide battery cover off.
3.Install 2 new AA batteries .
4.After batteries are installed, the remote sensor will begin transmitting and automatically register to the Thermometer
(within range) after several minutes. However, you can also press the small button in the battery compartment (labeled Tx) to register the Remote Sensor to the Thermometer immediately
5.Replace battery cover and tighten 4 battery screws. Make ure that the battery cover is fully on and tightened to assure a watertight seal.

SETTING UP THE THERMOMETER
The thermometer can monitor up to two different Remote Sensors on two separate channels. Add-on remote sensors can be purchased separately and are compatible with the GE Wireless Thermometer/Clock (model GE5805WS4) as well as this unit. When first installing, always insert batteries into the Thermometer first, then into the Remote Sensor.
The thermometer uses random security code technology-it will learn the random code of the first Remote Sensor it detects and log in as channel 1. Channel 2 will register in the same way. NOTE: Registered channels will be erased when the batteries of the Thermometer or Remote Sensor are removed. When replacing batteries for a Remote Sensor, remember to clear the corresponding channel of the Thermometer in this way:

1.Remove batteries from the remote sensor (step 2 of installing batterie)
2.Select the channel that you would like to clear by pressing the CH button on the Thermometer until this channel number is displayed.
3.Hold the CH button for 3 seconds to clear the channel
4.Follow steps 3-5

MOUNTING THE REMOTE SENSOR AND THERMOMETER
Remote Sensor is suitable for outdoor mounting (watertight) at a range up to 100 feet from the Thermometer. HOWEVER, HE UNIT SHOULD NOT BE MOUNTED IN A POSITiON WHERE IT WILL BE SUBMERSED IN WATER, OR EXPOSED TO DIRECT SUNLIGHT, OR NEAR OTHER SOURCES OF HEAT OR COLD (I won't bother typing the rest) except for:

LOW Battery icon for the sensor will show up on either the
ch 1 or ch 2 display depending on which sensor is losing battery power.

Battery life 6 months
Temp Range Therm 32 to 122 deg F
Remote Sensor -58 to 158 deg F *
*Alkaline batteries can freeze temporarily at temps below -4 deg F. In this condition, the Remote Sensor cannot accurately transmit temp info to the Thermometer. This limits the effective minimum temp fo the Remote Sensor to -4 deg F

Operational Range....>50ft(and up to 100ft)(less interferances)

RF Channel ....refresh to "---" if no signal received in 60 minutes

You need to press the CH and MAX/MIN buttons at the same time.  Make sure the transmitter is set to the same channel you have on the receiver.  The transmitter has a switch inside the unit where the batteries are.

If you remove the batteries from both then add the batteries first to the receiver then to the transmitter they will sync up. Just don't press any buttons! :-)

I found my manual. After you replace the batteries in the wireless sensor, using a pin or something like that press the reset button in the sensor. Next press the CH and MAX/MIN buttons at the same time on the base unit.to force a search. If the channel changes, just press the CH button until your channel is showing. The wireless sensor transmits a new reading every 30 seconds and the LED will flash. The units should then sink up.

To set the clock press and hold the MODE button for three seconds and the hours will start flashing. Use the up/down buttons to set the hour. Press MODE to confirm. The minutes will start flashing. Repeat for minutes, month, day, year and language. (E) English, (D) German, (F) French and (S) Spanish.

Alarm can be set by pressing AL once for Alarm1 and again for Alarm2. Hold the AL button for three seconds to get to the alarm time set function. Use the up/down arrow buttons to set the hours. Press AL again and you will get to minutes. Press AL to exit.

    Hello,
I have this same GE5805WS4 wireless weather station but there is no CH button or switch in the wireless sensor. Inside the battery compartment of the indoor hub receiver there is a RESET button and two DUMMY buttons. There is only one button on the inside of the remote sensor marked TX (Im guessing that stands for transmit.
I see a blink in the wireless sensor when I press that TX button so its working, but even when I take out all the batteries and replace them first in the indoor unit and then the outdoor wireless unit, they still will not sync. The batteries are new in both, What two buttons would i press if there is no CH button and Max/Min?

Put batteries in indor unit first then go through set up routine for time, date, weather etc.
Then hold down Ch button for three seconds to clear the receive channel.
Now in the outdoor unit select Ch1 using the slider switch in the battery compartment, insert the batteries, then with the outdoor unit close to the indoor unit, press the transmit button in the outdoor unit. The two units 'should' synchronise.
If not then remove the batteries from the outdoor unit the hold down the Ch button on the indoor unit to clear the channel again, then repeat the insert outdoor unit batteries and press transmit.
Your outfit should now be a goer. routine.

Need instruction manual for equity wireless thermometer

Hi George,
I believe your Equity wireless thermometer is manufactured by LaCrosse Technology. Here is a link to their website:

http://www.lacrossetechnology.com/

From this page, you can search the type of wireless thermometer or weather station you're trying to use. (You didn't specify a model number in your request).
Also notice that there is link on that page for Support; clicking that will take you to the Manuals link. You will need to find your proper model number in the drop-down menu.
Also, there is a Contact link, so you can contact them directly for further assistance if you are unable to find your model's information.

Good luck, George! Hope this helps!
