Ws-55511 red color will not converge, got part

The two stk-392=570 chips need to both be replaced===they are along with the rest of the circuit on the middle board.

The convergence is out, and the convergence ICs' would have to be canged on convergence board, and you are looking a a repair bill between 300-400, and if it was mine for the year that it is I would not lay any money into it, Just buy a new LCD, take care.

No,this tv don't have a projection bulb inside,it used CRTS tubes like R,G,B guns technology.The tv problems u are having it is call convergence problems,it is dead.The tv convergence board it dead or dying that why tv have R,G,B colors lines misalignments,have colors shadows picture or have 3D pictures look alike.The tv convergence board must require changes like 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.To fix the tv convergence board to solved the tv picture convergence problems.The tvs Shops will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

If your picture has a 3D effect and you try to align with the cross hatches, then you have a convergence issue. I usually change both convergence IC's and any resistors that are open in the circuit. It requires unsoldering and soldering in the new convergence IC's. To locate the IC's, you can identify them as two side by side black chips about 3 inches by 2 inches with 18 pins each soldered to the board and on a metal heat sink. The numbers on them are identical and start as STK 392- 120 or 110. It is quite a job even for a skilled tv tech. After installing them and any resistor that is open, you will be able to align the cross hatches.

There is an option in the user menu on the tv. Using either the remote or control panel on the front of the tv, press MENU then select SETUP. After you choose SETUP go to the 3rd column with the 3 icons. Here you can adjust the red or blue color or reset the convergence back to factory default.

After a few years the set will begin to show increasing problems with the convergence settings. When you can no longer adjust either red or blue horizontally or vertically an IC replacement will be needed. Your set uses (1) SANYO stk393-110 and you want to make sure it's SANYO and not a knock off brand as those usually fail prematurely.

If you go into the customer menu and select convergence--then advanced(there will be instructions on screen) and red or blue are skewed and will not adjust--you have a convergence circuit problem.

The WS-55511 you have indicated uses a large single IC chip for this---a STK-393-110. SHOPS get 300 or more for this but you can buy all the parts needed for under 30 dollars--one seller I use on Ebay has that chip for 12 dollars.

If the convergence will not adjust you have a convergence circuit problem.

This model uses a single STK-393-110 CONVERGENCE IC If you are handy and know how to solder it is a 12 dollar part on EBAY

Most shops will charge 300 or more for this repair.

You have a failure in you Convergence circuit.
Probably a pair of STK-392-570's or a single STK393-110. These are common failures with this model series. I do however stress that the location of screws securing the board to the tray poses trouble getting the board out. I do recommend that a qualified serviceman do the job. You do not want to break the board because it probably is not available anymore through Mitsubishi.

Sounds like you have bad Convergence Output IC > 267P155010 > STK393-110, replace and it will correct the problem TV uses only ONE, make sure all resistors look good in the circuit around IC.
