When I try to record vinyl records it gets no

I got this software with my SONY digital phono. when I try to record my vinyl records, it looks like it is recording but gets no sound on replay. I have the usb plugged into my computer and the line out from the phono into the line-in for my audio card.
I can play the record thru my computer while it is recording, but nothing records.
I get no errors - any clues what the problem is?

What is the "size" of the file?
Click with the SECOND (usually the RIGHT) mouse-button on the file, and click 'Play' (with Windows Media Player).
Does it play?
Does Windows Media Player show the correct length (minutes:seconds) for the recording?

Can I use my Optimus ten bands stereo graphic equalizer 31-2030 as phono preamp to play my old vinyls?

Sorry no. Unless the old phono preamp built into that, Which is a new thing just started in the last few years with new turntables. Old ones need a phono preamp with RIAA curves built in and GAIN as the cartridges are very low output.

I wish to transfer my vinyl records to my Brennan JB7.My record deck is a B&O Beogram RX2 2 phono plugs only, black & white. How do i do it? Thank You. Les Hillier

Having looked at the Brennan it can't record music only copy it.
So what you need is some software such as Magix Audio Cleaning Lab. This will record the music from the record player and get rid of the clicks and noise from the tracks.
You also need a converter, these are simple enough and you can get them from Amazon. See image below you can even transfer video with the yellow RCA or SVHS lead. Your deck plugs into the red and white jacks and the usb into the computer. Once recorded you can transfer the files to the Brennan.

How to hook up a phono to Sony DHC-MD555?

You will need to hook up your turntable to a pre-amplifier. You can then hook the pre amp to the video inputs on the back of your MD555. You can purchase a pre amp on ebay for around $15

Why can I not record to a CD from the "aux in" port?

Your question has not provided enough information. Are you trying to record vinyl onto a cd?
You cannot record onto a normal cd player. You need a cd burner(/recorder).
Vinyl turntables have a quieter output signal too so unless you have a device that has a phono (vinyl) input you will not be able to record your vinyl. If you have a laptop then the easiest way to record vinyl onto cd is to buy a soundcard that has phono input. You can then use free software (programme) like audacity to record your vinyl and covert it to a format (wav aiff or mp3) to burn to cd using iTunes or Windows Media player.

When recording vinyl to cd ..when i play the cd back i can hear the cd motor on the recording

Hmm, no products identified nor connections defined.

It is more likely you're recording the turntable motor than the CD motor. Are you passing the vinyl through a PHONO preamp as required?

I'm using the serato dj software program.I had my turntables about 5 years.Currently I'm not receiving a good signal from one of my tables.I replaced the phono cords myself but still not a good signal.I...

You check it by trying a regular vinyl record to see if it is the cartridge. Make sure you have the input on phono for vinyl and on aux if you are using serrato. If the turntables are older try cleaning the contacts on the tone arm where the cartridge goes. make sure it is grounded properly also. Try plugging the turntable that is not working in where the working one is to check the channel on the mixer.

I am trying to record my old vinyl records to a CD. I expected that the RCA leads from my turntable would just plug into the back of the RCD-W500C, but the manual indicates a somewhat complex cabling...

Complex? Traditional turntables need PHONO preamaplifiers (in receivers) to PREAMPLIFY the minute signal they produce to something useable.

"PHONO" is the only designated connection on a receiver that is literal and exclusive. Nothing but PHONO will work right on it and old-school turntables would require it to preamplify the tiny current produced by a Phono cartridge.

Just curious, priorto the arrival of the RCD, how did you play or listen to the turntable?

Play phono - vinyl records

You need to purchase a phono preamp (about $20) and then the output of the preamp can be connected to any line level input on the receiver (tape, CD, DVD etc.)

Connecting Pioneer SX-737 Receiver to computer problems

I've been recording LPs for over a year now.

I've got the turntable outputs plugged into the phono inputs on the receiver amp.

I'm taking the Y cord (pair of RCA connectors at one end, mini plug at other) from the Tape Record (these are what you'd use to send a signal to the tape deck for recording) on the amp to the "line in" on the sound card. You may want to look up the specs on your sound card to make certain that you've got the plug in the correct socket. There may be a "line in" and a "microphone" socket. Use the "line in"

What recording software are you using? Audacity is free and is ok. I'm using Goldwave (costs ~$50) and highly recommend it. MUCH better than any other package I've tried. Just google "goldwave" to find it.

The recording software should have an option for selecting / specifying a source. If you have "microphone" selected and the y cord going into the "line in" socket, yoiu won't get anything.
