The open/close button will not open the dvd tray and a "locked" message appears in the window.
My MixSonic MS988K DVD Player dvd tray won't open up. I tried some of the solutions that were found, like holding the open/closed button for more than 10 seconds, and other solutions, but they don't work. Can someone please help me?
Sorry, the top part where it says "..."locked" message appears in the window," isn't true; it got put on there accidently. I do not get a message, but it won't open. I looked in the manual, but they didn't say anything.

Unable to do anything with dmr 95h. Tried to get to factory default: With the unit off, press "skip Rev" and Time Slip and "Open/Close" for 5 seconds. Result: The unit did take what time on unit and now flashes 12. When I press power on, the unit comes back and says TEST L1 Still can not make it do anything. Tried to open DVD tray, does not open. It was in locked position prior to my factory setting. I was able to unlock it.Unable to do anything with dmr 95h.

Result: The unit did take what time on unit and now flashes 12.

The Disc Tray is Locked
If the message “Tray Locked” appears on the screen, the retail lock feature has
been accidentally engaged. To unlock the disc tray you must press and hold a
combination of keys simultaneously:
On the front panel of the DVD Player, press and hold the STOP, ON•OFF and
OPEN•CLOSE buttons for at least 3 seconds.
I forget the password Your player is equipped with a “back-door” unlock sequence. Press and hold
the STOP button on the front of the DVD Player and the STOP button on the
remote control at the same time. (Hold both buttons down at the same time
for at least 3 seconds).
Do not have better news. You can unscrew the player, and see if dust is stuck in the gear that controls the dvd opener, or check the online dvd repair guys. But, really, it is cheaper/less of a hassle to get a new one.
To unlock, manually press and HOLD the open/close button & the stop button simultaneously, and HOLD them both down until the lock picture disappears. The DVD will eject when you press the open/close button.
To lock the DVD inside the machine, repeat the same step, and it will lock it inside.
