Look on your keyboard. On most laptops there is a function key that will lock the keyboard. You would need to pres the [Fn] key and the appropriate [F#] key. In mine the combination would be [Fn+F1] keys.

I had the same problem, but I solved it by hitting the f2 key alone (w/out the function key). when i keyed them at the same time the wireless did not toggle on/off
On the right-hand side near the cd rom drive, there is a switch that moves back and forth. move it towards the back of the computer. that should turn on your wireless capabilities. A wi-fi manager screen should pop and and you should be good to go.
