Hi to confirm that the issue is with the wireless router, try connecting the xbox directly to your cable modem or adsl modem or similar so that its directly connected to the net.

if you still receive the MTU warning, then check and see if that is adjustable on the xbox itself and if its not, then that setting is most likely in the ADSL modem and not on the router. you would have to connect to the Modem setup pages and look for MTU there, it probably is there.

let me know if you need further assistance.

Wont let xbox live update i checked connection and it was fine

If your Xbox 360 console is connected to the Internet through a router or gateway (as opposed to through a direct modem connection), try connecting the console directly to the modem. Here's how:

  1. Plug one end of a network cable into the back of your Xbox 360 console and the other end into your modem.
  2. On the console, sign in to Xbox LIVE and start the game.
  3. Choose to download the game update.

If you can download game updates when the Xbox 360 console is connected directly to the modem, there might be a problem with your router or gateway configuration.

Cheers!!

I have a Cayman 3347w wireless router and I am trying to use one of the wired slots to connect my xbox 360 to the internet. the xbox will not connect. is this router xbox compatable?

Please try the following steps below;

To make a router connection to Xbox LIVE:
  1. Before you connect any cables, turn off your router, modem, PC, and Xbox 360 console. (Unplug your modem from its power source to turn it off.)
  2. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your modem and the other end to the Ethernet input port on the back of your router.
  3. With another Ethernet cable, connect one end to one of the router's Ethernet output ports. Connect the other end to your PC's Ethernet port.
  4. With the third Ethernet cable, connect one end to another of the router's Ethernet output ports. Connect the other end to the Ethernet port on the back of the Xbox 360 console.
  5. Turn on your modem, then your router, then your PC.
  6. Make sure your PC can access the Internet. If not, you may need to configure the router for Internet access. For help configuring the router using your PC, check the instructions that came with the router.
  7. Turn on your Xbox 360 console and sign in with your profile.
  8. If this is the first time you've turned on your Xbox 360 console, see Create Your Gamer Profile to get started with both the Xbox 360 system and Xbox LIVE play.
If you're unable to connect to Xbox LIVE, you can try to diagnose the problem right on your console. Go to My Xbox and open System Settings, then select Network Settings (setup XBOX using Automatic Configuration DHCP), Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

Hope this helps!

I keep losing connectuin to xbox live

if you unplugged your modem it probably changed your ip, that happens to me alot lol. and if you have a from from the xbox to the network, that means your connection is wrong. make sure that the ethernet cable is connected from your xbox 360 and modem, then try again.
