High pitched rattling not associated with TV audio

With the power on and sound off, a high pitched tone, often varying, is eminating from the set. When a non-syncronized channel is selected (snowy screen), the high pitched tone almost disappears, leading me to believe that it may be a mechanical resonance, maybe in the high voltage section.

I am tempted to open the back and just press here and there with a wooden stick to isolate the sound but it's a very heavy set and it would be nice if someone has experience with this problem first.

Quite possibly the HVT arcing, which will eventually fail.

The problem with them arcing is they can be doing damage to other components.

Best to have it checked by an experienced tech.

There's an intermittent high pitched noise from sharp aquos lc32 le600e

Sounds like a transformer or choke that has loose windings and they are resonating, you can pull the back and put small amounts of silicone on those components or replace the power board

One of my technics' 1200 turntable's tone gets too high

You can try adjusting the pitch's gain, which is located on the pitch control circuit board. Only problem is that you'll have to take apart your turntable in order to get to that section (its on the bottom).

If that does not work, your pitch might be bad, or one of the main circuit drive IC's might be bad.

Hope this helps some.

High pitched squeal

Hello, This sounds as if it could be a switching power supply problem or a ballast problem. Both will effect your power supply and cause malfunction in various subsystems (audio, screen control, control systems, and the like). I would suggest having a qualified TV repair technician look at the set. This is because there are no user servicable parts associated with this type of problem. I hope this helps, Thank you, Shuttle83 http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com

High pitched noise coming from set.

hi there high pitched noise form the set indicates that one of the coils inside the set are lose this happens with age and heat the coils are made of copper and are tightly glued or soldered together and can be as small as a bit of hair of as big as a pen tip the problem is that the coil is now vibrating which is causing the high pitch sound and sound be quite easy to identify with a good ear!

sometimes these can be sorted with a quick bit of solder to hold it in place on the main bord of where the coil is, but some times there is no cure due to very small braiding of the copper wire any attempt to solder may cause damage and breakage,

You may be able to replace the coil with another one from a good components store with the same value best thing is to take out the noisy coil and take it down to be replaced

the reason it appears worse when first turn one is that the coil is cold and vibrates alot more just like when the set is warm the coil expands like most metals do which stops it vibrating so much

i hope this helps a little good luck

A high pitched tone is constant when the TV is on

The problem could be that of coil that has become loose and is vibrarating cause your squeal . Or it may be a transformer in the power supply that is also vibrating . These can only be replaced to get rid of your problem and you have to isolate which one is causing the noise . Good luck

High pitched noise coming from set.

No my freind, without being there and looking around its a guess that the noise you hear is from the switching Power supply or SMPS(switch mode power supply. it could be an indication of something to come, as a breakdown as maybe the power supply is being a little bit overloaded for some reason, or could just be a loose transformer or coil winding. Not alot to do with it unnless you locate the source. i would contact Samsung and see if there are any problems like this for this model. If they dont know then the best advice im sorry to say is live with it or call in a tech to check out the power supply or to locate the singing coil. Good Luck PS please dont forget to rate this thread.

LG 42PX4DV-AA query

Sorry to tell ya that the high pitch tone is a very common complaint ,mostly from our lady friends.. As their hearing range is alot more sensitive then their male counterparts. The "singing Coil" problem is nothing more then a loosely wound coil or deflection yolk and even sometimes even the HI voltage transformer. There are a few tricks to try to MINIMIZE only!! The singing of the coils. Such as siliconing the coils . Sticking wood pieces in between the coils or tranformer bases. But the really only way to eleminate this problem 100% is to replace the parts thats singing. And this is not a job for the handi-person.. Theres always a hi voltage issue thats present even when a tvs unplugged!!! Please seek a quailified service tech to assist you inj this nissue. GOOD LUCK
