The bulb broke in my Roper oven and I can't get the rest of it out.

* Call for service! High voltage(s) present!
*** The following is for information only. ***
* Remove oven and unplug. (Yes, you could trip out the breaker. But do you know enough to turn off the right one? Remember, you will be sticking something is a live socket.)
* Following is very dangerous! Use the back end of a rubber handled screw driver. Wear a glove and don't touch the metal parts of the oven with your other hand. Use dry towels if needed, to place around the oven door if you have to lean in. Remove all metal shelves. A small wooden handle (from a plumber's helper) can also substitute as well (if it's dry!)
* I'm guessing the bulb cracked or broke off the metal screw In base. With power OFF (you will be smashing the wires to the bulb that will probably short out.) Insert the blunt end (Handle side) into the light socket. Use a smaller handle if it does not fit. A broom handle should fit perfect. Press hard enough to get a grip and twist counter-clockwise to loosen the base. You may need to twist slowly back and forth to get the handle to 'bite' into the base. Be careful as the base comes out that you use a gloved hand to unscrew the base the rest of the way.
* This method works most of the time. Though it will not work on shorted/melted bulbs. This is caused by a bulb that was not seated properly and 'arced' welded the base to the contacts of the socket. This requires a complete replacement of socket and bulb.
* Final; Check your warranty as working on the oven may void it. Warranty periods may last years, so check first. Be safe and call your vendor for service.

PS; Though I don't think they use LEDs lamps INSIDE the oven as the heat will destroy them. But if it is an LED lamp then this method will not work. Call for service and replacement.

How can i replace the front door panel that has cracked at handle . it is whirlpool microwave over range

The parts are available from appliance parts houses. They do sell to the general public. I did one a few months ago. I think the outside door was around $30. It is not a difficult job. Just know that you have to take the entire door apart to do the job. 20-30 minutes.

Broken handle on whirlpool model MH7140XF. how do I remove the face of the door with out breaking it?

The door handle can easily be replaced on most microwave ovens by removing the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to access and replace the door handle:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3696942-microwave_oven_door_handle_replacement

The average cost for a replacement handle usually averages about $20 - $40. Replacements may be purchased at the websites listed in the link I provided. If the model number you have this question listed under is correct, the part number for a replacement handle is available at appliancepartspros.com. There are several part numbers listed, based on the color of your oven, so make sure you order the correct handle. Here is the parts listing:

Door handle is cracked & would like to get it replaced. Can this be in house or should I take whole oven to service center?

Replacing a door handle on a microwave oven should be simple and requires no assistance from an appliance repair technician.

The door handle can easily be replaced on most microwave ovens by simply removing the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to access and/or replace the door handle:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3696942-microwave_oven_door_handle_replacement

The average cost for a replacement handle usually averages about $20 - $40. Replacements may be purchased at the websites listed in the link I provided. However, price and configuration of your oven also depends upon the MODEL NUMBER.
If you have any questions, please post back with your complete model number and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Slight crack in oven door just below the handle. Should door be replaced?

It may be that the handle is getting loose, and cracked the outer door panel.

If so, the outer door panel and handle would need to be replaced.

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) here that demonstrates how it's done.

You can find handy exploded views and order parts by model number here.

Kitchenaid model KHHS179LSS Microwave oven handle replacement

There is a pin holding the door on upper right hand corner of the door. Holding the door in the open position, lift up on the door a little and remove the pin. The door will come off. There are two screws on the edges of the door on the end where the handle is located. Remove the screws. Now, Take a slim screw driver, and carefully pry between the inside door panel and the ourside door panel starting at the end where the door handle is. Lift the inside of the door out. The opposite end of the inside door panel will come out last. Believe me, this works. Getting it back together is a little bit different, but it snaps back together without using tools. Just put the inside of the door back by laying it down with the handle side down after you have replaced the handle of course. Now, pushing in on the inside of the door panel starting on the handle side, start with lining up the panel and push gently. It will go back into place much much easier than it comes out.

Broken Handle

On almost any microwave oven door if you open the door,on the inside part of the door, theres a square plate thats plastic that is a one piece unit that goes all the way around the edge of the door . That held on by little plastic clips that are molded right on the suround and easy to break, so take a small screw driver(of course the ovens unplugged by now) and start at one end and start prying it out inch by inch. Being care full not to crack it. If yop do crack it, you must replace it, but its not that expensive. Once you have off the cover surround, you will see the screws that hold on the handle. If you need help getting the part go to http://www.repairclinic.com as even if its not listed get the phone # and call them and they will assist you. Good Luck
