Hi, If you can locate the chipset on the mainboard for the sound card. then download driver from other manufacturer .. You will see for eg Intel ac97 or realtek audio something like that.. For your mainboard configuration it may be Realtek Audio driver
Windows 7 just recently went into RC1 status. It is unlikely that Abit, as well as other PC hardware manufacturer's, will have drivers available this soon after the RC1 launch. You may be able to get away with using the Vista versions of the drivers but this seems to be hit-or-miss.
Try updating your bios to latest revision then using the windows update with it set to get updates other than mmicrosoft products (like microsoft update used to do instead of windows update in XP) this may work. Seems to with alot of the older boards i build systems with
Hi Dave, When performing a fresh install of windows, the very next thing that a user should install are the drivers from the motherboard CD. (This means install the Intel chipset software utility)! (Do not run windows update service's first)! Install all the drivers from the manufacture, "EXPECT the, Viiv software driver". You'll need to get media center updated to SP1. Than install the Intel Viiv software. Once the system is stable, than you can download & install updated drivers from Abit. (Check the date of the drivers on the CD against the drivers on Abit's web site & download & install the latest drivers). Check that the system functions correctly. Check your bios. See the bottom of page 3-10. in your manual, HDMI Port Display. Than read page 2-17. Realtek uses jack detection software. Than continue with windows update services. I'm not sure about the last issue in your post. I think you are saying the TV is not showing all of your desktop! Check the display settings in your TV & set you desktop to display to 1600 X 1200 @ 60MHz. You might have to play with the desktop resolution rate to get all onto the TV. PC display to TV display is not a strong point for me. I don't want you hanging on the display issue so I'm going to suggest you post this issue with a fellow expert.
