Dei automate remote starter 552 for manual gear installation

I want to know if that remote starter can be installed in a mazda 2002 protege with manual transmission. also i want to get the installation manual for that product. Thank you.

Thses remotes were not intended for manual tranny AT ALL. anyone who installes a remote start meant for an automatic into a manual tranny shouldnt be installing remote starters, or they want a huge lawsuit. if you ever have a shop install one they should be reported.

    Mike: I have a Automate alarm on my 1994 Dodge Dakota and would like to transfer it to my 2005 Dakota SLT crew caw 3.7 V-6 is this possible and can I do it my self? Thanks for your time and knowledge.

It can be installed, but is not recommended. If the car was left in gear and the auto start activated the car will lurch forward. A friend of mine, who is an installer, had his WRX jump a curb in a parking lot in land in a ditch. BTW, he "never left his car in gear". It only takes once.

Check clutch, throwout bearing, clutch pressure. linkage may be binding or broken between shifter and tranny. Make sure you have the right type of clutch installed.

It really depends on what features you are looking for. I installed Audiovox for 12 years and DEI for 8. I like the DEI much better. The Audiovox always had problems with their remotes and would break down. DEI remotes last much longer and all the options are better on it too. They are the leaders in the field.DEI is the makers of Viper and Python as well as automate.

Scan PCM for codes. Check that timing is correct again.These DOHC engines are easy to install a tooth out. Start from the top of engine when installing timing belt on this type of engine it's the easiest way to do it. If you took CRANKSHAFT pulley apart make sure the pick up ring behind isn't placed in backwards.

First you must cut the Dimmer wire from your stereo installation.Second, replace the 5amp or maybe the 7amp fuse that blew at the fuse panel near the LEFT foot rest.If you are certain that all the fuses check fine, then go to your MAZDA dealer and purchase a new thumbwheel dimmer control,because the rheostat has burned in your present one.Do not reconnect the dimmer control wire 2 your stereo wiring,because U don't need to.

Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the intake manifold.
  3. Disconnect the sensor connector.
  4. Remove the sensor from the engine block.
  5. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
