It depends on the parts you are looking for. If you go to your local vacuum repair shop they might have parts for your model. If not then there are parts available on Eureka's website. If you need replacement belts for your model you can get them here:

My Model 2961 Eureka wont take power now?

Hi,

Anytime that you smell that electrical burning smell on a vacuum cleaner, this is the motor going bad. There are two distinctive burning smells in fixing vacuum cleaners, the electrical burning smell which is the motor, and a rubber burning smell which is the belt.

The bagless vacuums cleaners in general, their motors last usually no more then 3-5 years. The motor in bagless vacuums work much harder then the motors in their bagged counterparts.

The motors in Eureka vacuums can range in price from $70-$120. If you can provide me with the exact model number on your vacuum cleaner (can be found on the bottom or the back of the machine on the sticker that also contains the serial number) I will be able to get you the part number, and price of the motor that's used in your vacuum.

It may be worth considering to just get a new vacuum cleaner at this point. If you'd like me to give you a personalized recommendation specifically for your unique cleaning needs, I'd be honored to do so. Please just let me know what types of floors you have mostly in the home and I'll be happy to share my knowledge of vacuum cleaners.

I hope this was helpful to you. If you found this helpful, please be sure to rate the repair helpful so other Fixya users that have this same problem can easily find the answer.

Thanks so much,

Chris J.

What Model replacement belt do I need for the Eureka model 2961 BVZ?

Greetings,

According to the Eureka Part diagram for your particular model vacuum, your vacuum uses Eureka Style U Belts. Eureka makes actually 2 different styles of U belts.

The first style is the standard U belt, Eureka part number 54312. This belt is probably the one that came standard on your model. You may purchase this belt from the link below;
http://eurekaservice.stores.yahoo.net/uprightbelt.html

The other type of Style U belt that will fit your model is the Eureka Extended Life Style U Belt, Part 61120B. The Extended U belt is more durable, and lasts longer then the Eureka Standard U belt. You may purchase the Extended U belt here;
http://eurekaservice.stores.yahoo.net/exlifubel.html

Now, if you are quite sure how to change your belt, you may visit the link below to see the owners manual for your Eureka 2961BVZ that will give you step by step instructions on how to change the belt;

I really hope that this was helpful to you in finding and fixing the belt for your Eureka. If you did find this helpful, please be kind and rate my repair solution as helpful by clicking the thumbs up icon in the lower right hand corner below. I really do appreciate it, thank you.

Feel free to request a repair clarification if you have any questions about the procedure of installing the belt on your Eureka, I'll be happy to help.

My vacuum (Eureka Bagless Model 2961 AVZ) will not START!

Had exactly the same problem with my upright Eureka Model 5893 bagless. Eventually, the handle would get hot, and finally it just quit. When handle was disassembled, the wires were melted and it was toast. Ordered a switch after talking to several repair men. Talked to Eureka, too, and they were absolutely no help. Cheap wiring and switch made in China. Good luck trying to find a switch. vacuum-depot.com has switches, so you might try there, but make sure you get the 3-prong switch (same switch used on Eureka's Genesis). It is Part #27871.
