Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H7 Battery Life is Only Hours Now

In June 2007 I bought the Sony Cyber-shot DSH-H7. Just two weeks ago (around Christmas) the battery died (G Type Lithium Ion). So I got another battery. That battery only lasted a few hours. So I got another one and it only lasted a few hours. I'm only taking normal pictures. Around Christmas I noticed that it was difficult to take pictures. I'd press the button and nothing would happen. I'd have to keep trying until it finally took. But I think it's draining the battery. I don't know what's wrong with it. I can't afford those $50 batteries and couple of days.

    I believe that may be the problem instead of the battery itself. I'll check that out.

I think battery went on protection mode and if you give couple of hours rest to battery by take out from camera and place it on shelf. Hope this trick will work.
