What does the flashing red hand in the upper right

I have a Nikon S9 camera. What does the flashing red hand in the upper right corner of the viewing screen mean?

  • kakima Aug 01, 2012

If you're referring to the red hand in the upper-right corner marked "7" in the illustration on page 6 of the manual then it is the camera shake warning indicating that the shutter speed may be two long for handholding.

The flashing red light is warning you that the shutter speed will be too long for handholding the camera. Put the camera on a tripod or other stable surface, and/or use the flash.

What does the red hand in the top right corner mean and what should i do about it??

The red hand in the upper-right corner is warning you that the shutter speed may be too slow to be handholding the camera. You can try adding light if possible, putting the camera on a tripod or other stable surface, or simply take a deep breath and shoot and hope for the best.

Nikon D90 flashed CHR and next time using camera LCD was black/grey with stripes and no pics HELP!!!

The CRH error message means that the lock tab on your memory card is in the locked position. The purpose for the lock switch is to allow you to set your SD card so that you cannot accidently erase your valuable pictures. Remove your SD flash memory card from the camera and hold it in your hand with the label toward you and the angled corner to the upper right. Look on the left edge of the card and you will see a very small slider switch. Make sure the switch is in the fully up position then reinsert it in the D90. If the camera is not generating a false error, your camera should work correctly.

I have a nikon camera and there is a small red hand flashing at the top right hand corner,How can i get this to go away?

Hello

OK, the red hand icon that's flashing indicates that the camera is using a slow shutter speed, and is warning me to be careful to hold it steady.)

So, basically you will just need to increase the shutter speed, and the hand will go away. This setting is usually done in manual mode.

Kind regards

Red hand blinks on screen upper right side. how do i deleet this problem. nikon coolpix 7500.

The red hand icon flashing shows that the camera is using a slow shutter speed, and is a warning to be careful to hold the camera steady.

You could put the flash in auto mode and it will fire when the light is low.

Red hand

I got on to the Nikon website about this problem and I was advised that it was caused by the flash being switched off. I hadn't realised that the flash could be turned on or off - though itt was automatic. Anyway I restored all settings to default and the flashing red had disappeared.

Help flash Nixon coolpix L11

hello,

make sure when you press the round selection button on the back of the camera flash option, you press the ok in the center of the button on the back.

it will show brief yellow AUTO in the LCD screen upper right corner for a sec.

when you are going to take a picture holding the shutter button half way down, you should see up at the right corner outside of the LCD screen a red led flashing to indicate flash is ready.

one thing to try if this is not working, find the camera reset option in the menu. after doing this you may have to reset the date & time. it will bring the camera back to default settings

on the bad side if these dont work, possible flash circuit may have failed inside the camera.

good luck!

Flashing icon

Low shutter speed icon means that when you take photo the image will be blurry if camera moved.

Is there this icon when flashlight is turned on?
