If you look on your palm, do you know what the Palm name is?
You can find this by clicking the hotsync icon once and it should appear in the upper right hand corner.

Then in quick install, make sure the name in the drop down window matches. You could be installing the files to the wrong profile.

The other thing to check is to make sure your palm is successfully syncing. The hotsync icon on the palm should show the last successful sync time and date.

Palm Tungsten E - I have two users set up - the initial one didn't work. The initial one is the only one that shows up in the Quick install program. How do I get my current user to show up in Quick install...

First do a hotsync. That should then show both names. Then just select the name to install stuff to on quick install.

You should be able to delete the user you don't want from the deskto

MacMini 10.5.4. How to copy mail.mac address book to Palm desktop

In order to sync a Palm device with other applications, including Outlook on Windows, or Apple's iCal and Address Book on the Mac, users can install Palm conduits, which divert data headed to Palm Desktop to an alternative selection of apps on the computer instead.

What type om songs are to be loaded into SD card

Any type of digital file can be loaded to memory cards. Any type of audio, video, text or program.
If your mp3 files are not on the card, you are not transfering them properly. Use cut/paste or send to do this. The card should show up in your "My
Computer" drive list. If not, your reader is not seeing it and cant write to it. Win98 must have drivers loaded to see pen drives or memory cards.

Tungsten E problem

Older palm products and vista aren't compatible. You either needs to transfer info via bluetooth or upgrade your palm if you wish to continue using vista.

Can't install palmone quick install on vista

Vista and quick install work just fine for me.. Here is the process.. Using latest 4.1 from palm.com

you may loose palm desktop data and the users you have created

shut down hotsync, quick install, and palm desktop

go to start.. Programs... Palm desktop

highlight hotsync manager and left click... Go to properties...

Go to compatibility tab and tick run in windows XP mode

select disable visual themes and at bottom select run as administrator

OK that and go to quick install and palm desktop and do the exact same

restart hotsync manager (you will need to allow the program now)

start palm desktop (you will likely need a new user created) (you will also have to allow)

start quick install and poof it will work like new on your vista PC

I struggled with that one for at least 45 min myself but I can now go to quick install and find my application and upload to my palm and sync with ease!

Hope that helps

Converting from Palm Pilot TX to iTunes

There is probably a compatibility issue between the TX, Pocket Copy, and Iphone. TX is pretty picky about what can be used to transfter information. They only recommend Outlook and the one that is included on the TX CD.

TX and IPhones are different systems as well. You could try to get the files exported from the TX into a CSV and see if you can import the files into Iphone that way, if it will import them.

Good luck on that one.

Synchronizing Tungsten T3 with desktop or laptop

I recently re-installed my T3 program

What do you mean?
  • Did you restore your T3 from a backup on the PC?
  • Did you install programs on the T3 using the PC's "quick install"?
Is Palm Desktop showing the correct Contact/To-do/Calendar Data?

How are the conduits set up? (From Palm Desktop, select Hotsync->Custom)

QuickInstall Won't Sync Photos - Why?

Do you notice any change in the way the photos application works on your Palm (such as if you click on it it flickers then goes back to the "home" screen) Also it sounds like syncing other stuff through quick install works, but photos do not, Is this correct? If it is then I would suggest looking through the CD for the photo's application for your palm, and reinstalling just the photo's.

Transferring Files

Many years ago I transfered my SHARP organizer files too my first Palm III. The Sharp offered a file export option. I exported to CSV format and then from CSV to the Palm pdb. Check the CASIO boards also.
