Look under your hood on the driver's side of the engine compartment. There a black box located on the fender well with a cover on it. Under the cover, is a diagram showing the position of each relay fuse.
the fan relays are located under the hood in the main fuse panel.look for a black box on the drivers or passengers side fender well. under the cover of the main fuse panel you will see locations of all relays, including the fan relays. thank you,for choosing fixya.com
There is a relay located in the power distribution center. This should be located under the hood, either on the fender wells or near the back of the engine compartment. It will be label power distribution. Open the cover and find the relay label for the fan. It is possible that another relay is mounted under the headlights probably on drivers side. Follow the wires from the fan motor. If you find a relay try replacing that one also. Good luck and be careful the relay may be loose or intermittent and can start the fan at anytime.
Try disconnecting the coolant temp. sensor, if cooling fan come on, replace sensor, relay is under hood drivers side on inner fender base, close to the head light.
The blower fan relay is located in the fuse box on the driver's side fender-well.A Jeep Cherokee uses an electric fan as an auxiliary fan for engine cooling and for cooling the air conditioning condenser when the air conditioning is in operation. A radiator temperature-sensing switch that activates the fan relay at 198 degrees F turns the fan on and controls its operation. The temperature drops when the vehicle is in motion and the switch turns the fan off. When the air conditioning system is in operation, the air conditioning relay supplies power to the fan relay via a fan diode downstream from the ignition switch. This diode activates the fan relay and keeps the fan operating as long as the air conditioning is on.Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.
funny little system on this vehicle 1.) check fuse #25 (15A) in the fuse box @ the right side of the engine on the inner fender 2.) check fuse #7 (10A) located in the junction box behind the right kick panel
3.) ground @ left fender side shield near the computer
4.) ground near the glove box switch
and if none of these work let us know if the indicators for the fog lamps illuminate
