Remote for one month old LG 37LG30 TV suddenly stopped working. I have 2 remotes with fresh batteries so it must be a tv problem. TV works fine with manual controls. Ideas?

1. Clean the area where the TV receives the signal from the remote with a wipe.
2. Try fresh batteries in the remote.
3. Try another remote.
4. Research if you can obtain the reception module in the TV. Sometimes they are a separate plug in card.
with lg this is normal and there is nothing you can do beside to take the set in for a exchange or repair service- I have an lg device or two that has the same issue, it is the players not the remotes. if i find a solution i will update you good luck questions just ask
Check on the back of the TV to see if you have a "remote in" port. It will look the same as a 3.5mm headphone jack. Unplug the TV and plug a pair of headphone into the port and then remove it. Do this several times to breakup any debris that may have gotten into it or corrosion that may have occurred in the port. If something is in the port it will disable the standard remote sensor on the TV.
Maybe there are buttons on the remote or tv set that are stuck, check these. If no luck then hide the remote so it can't communicate with the set, if it still is acting up unplugg the set for 30 min or more and plug it back in. This may clear a fault that is stuck. If it still is not working correct then the tuner is going bad. Check all devices that are plugged in to the set and unplug them from the tv so the tv does not recognize there is a device connected this may also help.
I'd check out the IR board on your tv. If you have electronics experience open up th etv find the IR board - trace it back to the AV board make sure all connections are plugged in good then if that doesnt work I'd replace the IR board first. That would be the cheapest part to replace. Also it could be the IR on the remote - but if the codes you used to program the programmable remote are known good for your model i'd look at the tv first.
I have a rh 265 remote and lg tv. It stopped controlling the tv. I hold the tv power button down on remote then pushed 1 at the same time. It reset it to work with my tv.
I heard that LG TVs have a problem with the TV not responding to the remote control (there is nothing wrong with the remote control). Hopefully your TV is still under the 2 year warranty. Go to LGService.com and report the problem. They told me that it's a common problem. They need to order the part and let me know when it comes in. (my TV is a LG 50PC1DRA)
