Freezer used as a frige?

First your freezer does not use R-134a. That is for auto air conditioners only. It uses R-12. You need refrigeration compound gauges, R-12 refrigerant and a two devices that connects to and punctures the lines and gives you a port to connect the hoses from the refrigeration compound gauges. You must have a refrigeration leak if you need to add refrigerant. The leak needs to be repaired or you will lose the refrigerant in a short time again.

Do you want to purchase a new unit with more efficiency with components manufactured with plastic and cast ceramic. If you do decide to purchase a more efficient unit, do not discard your well build Magic Chef. When the new unit fails after 5 years, you will always have the older well built unit.

It is short of refrigerant. Needs leak repair, vacuum and new gas. Or new freezer!

9 is usuly the coldes setting on the freezer. It needs 24 hrs to get to the setting that you put it on.

i have a magic chef freezer that is not getting cold

I think in the defrosting process, the evaporator was damaged causing refrigerant leakage. sorry... dont try to repair.. it sucks in moisture

as long as it is just a freezer, not a fridge-freezer, should be no problem
