  • G-Mike Jan 06, 2008

OK, I ran the motor & Motor control test, and the Motor Phase Test. Both tested fine. ANY MORE SUGGESTIONS?

  • G-Mike Jan 06, 2008

Now I've ran the Motor & Motor control test the tested fine. Then I ran a motor windings test. All tested ok. Now I lost as to what to check next, any suggestions?????//

OK people, upon really close inspection with a magnifying glass of the machine control board I think I've found the problem. The Q3 Triac is burnt. Not the Q6 which goes when the R-11 burns but the Q3.

I plan on replacing this component a see what happens. I'm also presuming it's the same MAC97A6 (400 volt). Some where I read to replace it with the NTE 5657 which is the same but 600volt instead of 400volt.

I will report on the results, Thanks for you help and continued input!

I have the same problem with my Neptune MAH3000AWW. Purchased 1999. After 6 to 8 weeks of this and it getting worse it is almost as though when the motor stops then tries to start again it just hasn't the power. When I push the start button it tries to start then I hear a "click" then I have to push start again. Sometimes 7 or 8 times before it gets going. Sometimes I have to advance the timer slightly then start it. Is it possible the motor is weak and at heavier loads just can't get going? The door definitely is staying shut and r11 is good. I've cleaned the water inlet screens, even replaced the start/stop switch. It is just getting worse.

I have the same problem with my Neptune MAH3000AWW I bought in 1999 The motor stops in any part of the cycle. The door stays latched. R11 is good. I've cleaned the water inlet screens, and even replaced the start/stop switch. It is just getting worse. It started about 3 months ago. At that time it would do this once in 5 loads. Now you must stay with it at least 3 - 4 times a load and on heavier loads 20-30 times. During the cycle it happens as soon as the motor stops in one direction and tries to start the opposite direction. It is as though the motor just hasn't got the power to take off. Sometimes I have to advance the timer very slightly to get it started other times just repeated depressing the start button and it will finally take off. Is it possible the motor is overheating and tripping a circuit?

I had the same problem a year after I installed a new control board. I found the relay on the control board to have a poor solder joint (it cracked in two places). I soldered the relay with additional solder and it has been working fine now.

Sounds like a bad motor control board. It is located at the front rt bottom and will probably show a burnt spot in it or the fuse will be blown. You must replace motor kit.

most common issue with these is the door lock assy. You need to remove the control panel and check the R11 resistor on the board most likely it will be burnt. This was a common issue a few years back. If the R11 resistor is burnt you need to replace the door lock AND control board or your problem will occur again.

Hope this helps _MJ_

Maytag washer MAH3000AWW purchased 1999 can't find series. what part has become defective?

Time for a new machine. It is likely to be the timer. Many parts are discontinued, but there is a replacement timer for $312.48. The information is conflicting to the part it replaces though so you will need a service call.
Timer Part #22002277

It sounds like the "repaired" main control board is still the issue with it being intermittent.

Maytag neptune mah3000aww washer. It cycles then sits at the end of spin, does not go off. then the door will not unlock. I turn to off, push off button. it is anyones guess if it opens

Possible that the door lock is not actuated to open after the end of the cycle and could be jammed. try using a degreasing spray like WD 40 and if there is any issue with the lock.

Washer runs when timer dial turned though ON button not pushed

Problem solved by ourselves! It was NOT in the circuit board (brain) of the machine. It was NOT in the door locking assembly as others would lead us to believe. It WAS the on/off switch on the control panel--part number 22002560 - a $22.00 problem fix.

MAH3000AWW Trips 20Amp Breaker at rinse cycle

The motor is known to have bad windings. Do a search for "Neptune Washer will not start" Also just inside the control panel where the start/stop sw is should be a paper folded with the diagnostics test and schematic. It is tucked under the pressure sw attached to the back. If not there then search "Maytag Neptune motor phase test" There is also a Service Manual FREE at Goetlieh's site.
