Sony KF-WE50 Hi There, There is no picture or sound on my Sony Wega LCD rear projection TV but the front red light flashes 6 times. Appreciate your assitance.
All sound and image shut down yesterday when listenning to TV. When I try to turn it on, the "power/standby" light flasnes green for less then 20 seconds then turn red and flashes 5 times for a minute then turns off (the fan stops). What is going on ? Can you help me? Thank you Patrick Chagnon

For Sony Model KF-60WE610, KF-50WE610, and KF-42WE610, the Diagnostic Code of power light indicator flashing 6 times green, then flashing 6 times red (6 red etc), means you need to replace part number A-1302-272A G1 BOARD, COMPLETE. See Sony Service Manual, 4. Chasis-1 at part Ref no. 103. The Power Board sits vertically in two slots on the left side of the electronics board. 4 wire connectors to remove when replacing. This component fits all 3 KF models listed above.
the green is the reboot process and is normal. the red light is an error code indicator. count the blinks of the red light...it cant be 30 times (I think) it will blink a sequence, pause, then do it again for a total of three times. count carefully, it gives you three chances to catch the number it is blinking.
Something is not sending the proper signal telling the tv to start up. Most likley is the thermal fuse on the optical block. Could also be a bad fan or even a bad lamp. Good luck
New bulb is just fine. 3 blink shows that lamp cover after replacement of bulb in TV is not fixed properly or not seated well in its position. Put new bulb and carefully place back lamp cover in its position because lamp cover will press tinny safety switch inside that will send signal to system control of TV that lamp is installed properly. Turn On TV and get vivid picture of Sony. Thanks.
Ths 5 blinks usually indicate an AKB problem. There is a break in the video path. I'll look up your specific model and post the results here. Please update this if you wish to attempt the repair yourself.
Hello Failrlane. You have a bad thermal fuse. You must remove the back cover in order to fix this unit. The thermal fuse can be found near the lamp housing. part number for kit: A-1137-954-A
