Charging problem with Sony Ericsson w880i

are you using the charger that came with the phone? I ask because I've run into in the past that if you try and use a different charger it may not work on your phone. you should use the one that came with the phone. having said that, you might want to try a different usb charger if that doesn't work it's probably the battery. Li-Ion batteries have charging circuits built in that can fail and also prevent the battery from charging if it's gone bad.

sony ericsson phones have their own two-prong charger/data plug. You will need to purchase another AC charger, or you can purchase a plug that has a female USB and use that. Good luck!

If your phone is not charging, try use a similar charger to charge to see if it is charger problem, if the similar charger did not charge your phone, it means the problem is the charging port on your phone.

The charging port of your phone is bad and will need to be replace. Replace the charging port on your phone to solve the problem of your phone not charging.
Once the charging port is replaced, the not charging problem with your phone solve.

What I have found with my Walkman Phone is that the springiness of the contacts on the charger have degraded over time to the point where when I plug my phone in, I have to press firmly and wiggle/adjust the connection to the phone until the phone indicates that it is charging.

If there was a problem with your phone's battery, or the charging contacts on your phone, then the USB cord would not work. If you take a close look at your charger's connection you will probably see that the contacts do not all appear to be the same length anymore; this is why the cord isn't working.

try charging with the USB cable on a PC,if this works then it's got to be the charger that has a fault.if this doesn't then try cleaning the battery terminals or changing the battery if this doesn't work then you may have to take it to a mobile store to check the charging port.

Turn off your phone and do not try to charge it. Take it to a nearest sony ericsson service centre.

Try putting it on charger and switch on the phone. My guess it that the charging mechanism has gone bad in the phone. also try charging the same battery on another phone which uses the same battery (if you can) this will tell you if hte battery is alright. Also try replacing the charger (just in case).
with the charger plugged in, try connecting the phone to the computer and take back up. also some of these phone (i am not sure about your model charges when connected to Computer. try that as well..
