Hi, I'm looking at the schematic and service manual for the Fisher 177. Each speaker must be connected between the "Main" and "Common" terminal for sound to come out of the speakers, there is a Main, Common and Remote terminal for both left and right speakers, for a total of 8 speaker terminals. These will be separate screw or push-in terminals, NOT standard RCA jacks. Try the AM radio first, since this is the part that will probably still be working if the tape machine and turntable have failed. The Power switch must be set to either "Main" or "Main and Remote" for the speakers to work. If still no sound, rip that selector switch back and forth several times to clean the internal contacts, also try the headphone jack. If still no output, "exercise" all controls back and forth several times to clean them as well. If still no luck, your unit needs service. I can scan you a copy of the service manual for $20 if needed (sorry, I'm in the business and have to charge something). Good luck! And yes, I take in repair work from all over the country - my flat rate to fully repair that unit would be $200 plus return shipping. My website is www.Barrys8TrackRepair.com No phone calls accepted, but the website does have my e-mail address.

Vcr/tv how to get the carriage unstuck

It sounds as if the drive belt or wheel that controls the carriage has perished and failed. There is normally a micro switch on the side or rear of the tray, that senses the presents of a casset. If it is closed with stikky tape or clay you may be able to simulate a casset in the machine and with manual force help the casset to open or close. alternatively a small lamp in the centre of the tray senses the tape. then you have to cover the lamp or two sensors on left and right side of the tray, to prevent detection of the broken or missing tape.

Looking for operating manual for Fisher MC-3000... i was able to only find a service manual. please advise for where I can dowloading the owners manual, thanks!

I found one on Ebay for $5 and suggest that as the easiest. If you can find a "scanned" version online, the quality of the scan may make it useless. Also, these receivers were pretty standard back in the day so a model number similar to the MC-3000 will likely have the same info you need.

I have an 8 track player that is playing the 8 tracks sped up. Also it chews some of the tape on some of them. This is two speaker stand 8 track player, One of the speakers carries the 8 track pocket. ...

Hi , it is good to hear someone in need a help for the 8 track player. I love this player, the mechanism and the sound quality due to the higher speed. Now you will need to open the set and mainly check on the pinch roller. This could be bad and to get a replacement might be difficult. so try to clean using go alcohol based solvent, clean up all the transport track area, the head and check also on the belt. make sure the tapes are not damaged as you will never get a replacement, i suggest that youmust make a copy soon. If the pinch roller bushes are worn out , it can wobble and push the tape down to chew, try to use a light emery paper to even the surface of the roller. I wish you luck and many happy hours of our old favourites. Helpful? Good day
