Hi. I'm trying to install a parallel pci card for my laser jet 4 printer. I have Windows 7 and I can't find a driver for my card. I'm running a pentium Dual core 2.5 GHz system. Any thoughts?
If Windows 7 doesn't automatically detect it and install the drivers, browse the company's website for Vista drivers. If that fails, search Google with your model and drivers on the end. Aside from those solutions you may have to get a new card. Hope it helps!

In Windows 7 in the Devices and Printers box, choose Add printer, then click on Add a local printer, choose existing port if one is already created (Parallel Port or IP Port) or if you have a Network card installed create new port and go to Standard TCP/IP Port. Enter the IP Address of the printer (It will also add the port Name automatically) then Next. Select Next again for Generic Network Card. This will bring you back to the Driver Install Window. Here you will click on Windows Update, this will download more print drivers for all manufacturers. Once the download is complete select Konica Minolta under Manufacturer then select Konica Minolta Pi7200e PCL5e, go Next and finish off the installing the Driver. I have a PageWorks 20 at home and using it on Win 7 64bit and this driver works with all paper sizes up to 11 x 17, duplex and optional tray. The driver is for a copier so disable tray 4, hole punch etc.
Hi I solve this problem with a program called CardFive this program provides several drivers inside when you install it in Windows 7. I install CardFive 6.3. Note. this program don´t install a printer driver in Devices and Printers in Windows 7, only provides you a interface to print cards with your Eltron p310 and you can choose other printer models discontinued. My printer interface is parallel and works in Windows 7 With CardFive 6.3 pro.
What has changed? One solution is to go into BIOS when you first turn on your PC hit <del> key. Make sure the ports are enabled. The second solution is to make sure you didn't add a device with serial ports or something which is sharing the same IRQs, which is 3 4 and 7 traditionally (for COM1/2 and parallel port).
If you tried all this and it doesnt work, then somehow the chip on the motherboard which handles these (the UART chip) has broke, you need to replace the motherboard or buy a card with serial and parallel ports on it (this should be quite cheap, ie 10-20 dollars).
Now that is a tall order. Finding drivers for a bubble jet printer. My best bet is that you'll need to contact the manufacturer of the printer and ask them if any such updates are available.
Vista do however have a large driver database.
Here is a link. Download and try. Do hope this help.
I had the same problem two years ago and purchased the adaptor also .The port is correct. My adaptor never would work either. The correct answer, for me, was to purchase a Parallel port PCI card and install it. I am still using it to this day as both the paper and the ink ribbon on my pin printer is a lot less expensive for making copies that I don't need to be letter perfect.
