Yes you can play english games on a japaness wii console, just get a cd called Freeloader in japanese version that is! Make sure that is says Japanese version before you purchase it. Look it up in your search engine online many websites that have them now, like any new thing there are restrictions on which system they will work on, ( Codejunkies.com) is one that I know of. Have fun with it. patti

I can't read my wii, because I bought it in japan, can I change its language or . thus it have a subtitle???

The Japanese Wii does not have a language change option. Also, games will of course be completely in Japanese and you cannot play games in English without breaking the Wii and modding it.

Japanese version

Hi,

I am sorry but the Japanese Wii has no option for English language menus. All Wii menus will be in Japanese.

My wii is an import and I dont know where to purchase games for it

Actually, I believe that if you go to the same language of video game sites as your Wii is (and translate with Google Toolbar) you may be able to purchase games for your Wii that would work. Or, if you want to play specific region-protected games (e.g. English game on Japanese Wii), you can enable homebrew, which is running unauthorized applications on the Wii. One of these apps is one that can disable region-protection on your Wii. But be aware, because if you don't know what you're doing with homebrew, you could screw up your Wii.

Have bought Cooking Mama, but can't play it in English (the default on the console is English, but it still starts up in Italian and there's no language option that i can find...)

It's a faulty batch - if you call 505 Games, they will send a pre-paid envelope out to you so you can return it, and then they will send you a new one (plus a free game for your troubles, which is nice!)

About playstation3 cd

No unless they have it already as a language that you can play it as. Other than that, if the game is not programmed with English already in, then the best thing you can do is get a dictionary or someone who can read japanese.

The games are made for different region formats, so what works in Japan doesn't always translate (hardware-wise) that it will in the North America.

Is japanese wii compatible with english wii fit?

No it does not. You can't play European games either for that matter, only Japanese games.
However there is a way around it, though it's a bit complicated and you'll need Zelda Twilight Princess (japanese version in your case) and an SD card.

Information can be found here: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Twilight_Hack#Download (used to install the Wii Homebrew Channel)
and used in combination with this:
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_Channel/Help (Wii hombrew channel install files)
and finally this:
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_apps/GeckoOS (homebrew application allowing you to play games from other regions)

If you need any help I'll walk you through it. This isn't endorsed by Nintendo whatsoever. No warranty on this at all. I have done it myself and there have been no adverse effects.

Wii consule set up

OMG!!!! well yeah... bad news for you who bought Japanese and Chinese consoles.
It's most possible that there isn't english language in there.
Even if there is, all your games won't be in English and you'd have to buy games only from Japan only due to the region lock.

And with that, I advice you people not to buy Wiis from other regions no matter how cheeper they are. It will spell trouble later when trying to play the console or find games.
