I have exactly the same problem, but i was watching tv. Sound stopped and i thought it was just dodgy bbc/itv channels, but then i tried my laptop, ipod, cd player, dvd and nothing. even tested the sound, still nothing. Pulled everything out and re-plugged my speakers in and just my ipod, still no sound, even with the headphones plugged in. Only had it 18months and this happens. What is it these days with electronics? I have an old gettoblaster in the garage, had it since the late eighties and it's still working..... I also want help. Was told that it's probably a resister but they had it 4 weeks and still couldn't solve the problem-maybe the electronic volumes gone-they could not fix this....

I had the same issue. I took it to an HK authorized repair center and they repaired it for $135. Something about a number of capacitors being blown.

I had the same problem, unplugged the receiver for 5 minutes, then when I plugged it back in, it worked.

I have lost all sound from my left front speaker on my AVR 135 They are Bose spreakers The system is 13 years old. Is it woorth fixing?

anything that works well is always worth investigating for a repair
it could be a simple fuse for that side amplifier, loose , broken speaker wire
have it checked out and then decide if it is worth repairing

Left speaker is very quiet

This may be a capacitor problem, evaluate and replace if bad.

I have Harmon Kardon AV140 connected to 6 Klipsch speakers. All of sudden I know longer have any sound coming out of my front speakers. Everything was working fine a few days ago. Did we hit a button in...

Only the front speakers failing? All others ok?

There is NO configuration that would have NO front speakers.

Go back to basics, open the manual and use test tones for speaker verification.

Do you know if the harman/kardon avr125 reciever is 3d capable?thanks [email protected]

Hi,
Actually Home theater sound, is 3D. (Three Dimentional) Your receiver, using surround speakers reproduces 3D sound.
i.e. It is Left to Right, and Front to Rear. Thus it's 3D. If your get a 3D TV, your sound will be just fine because it doesn't come from the set. The sound SOURCE is the DVD player, CD player or Cable Box. If you use digital audio outputs (optical cable or orange colored RCA cables) from these items connected into the Harmon-Kardon, your will get the full Home Theater sound. The Harmon Kardon does not have HDMI inputs however it will not need them for the purposes of sound. Your Receiver is a high quality unit. If you want the thrill of 3D TV, go ahead and get one. After you have set it up, if you then decide you want to go to 7.1 or some other SOUND upgrade, go ahead. One thing you should know, is that there is not a whole lot of audio quality improvement available after 5.1. Unless you have a very large living room. The real quality counts when choosing the speakers and sub woofer that go into the system, not the amount of speakers you have.
I have done a number of high end home theater installations and the experience of hearing the systems (mostly 5.1) has been a thrill for the owner.
I hope this helps you,
Best Regards,
Mark

Harmon Kardon AVR 235 no sound

Ensure that your speakers are connected to the terminals that you have your speaker selector switch turned to.
Then check that you have your device, whether it be a CD or DVD player, or turntable, plugged into the correct input and that you also have the correct input selected on the receiver.

Harmon Kardon AVR 230 produces no sound and no monitor out.

you do not have +17v and -17v on transformer board the top two fusible resistors are blown and the cap between them needs to be replaced as this cap probably shorted and caused resistors to blow. easy fix

Connection between harmon receiver and A-bus in wall speakers...

There is a CAT5/RJ45 A-Bus interface on the back of the HK AVR 435. That needs to connect to your A-BUS "hub". HK has two hub products: ABH-4000 and ABH-4 (older). Then CAT5 cable can be run from this hub to Wall-installed room-specific controls. HK has the AB-2 product, but any ABus compatible wall control will work. From the wall control, you wire regular audio cable to the speakers. So, some of the questions/issues to solve are: where do the existing wires go that are connected to the in-wall speakers? Typically that location is where to place your in-wall volume and source controls. Then the CAT5 gets wired from those controls back to the hub. And all that's required is a single CAT5 from the AVR to the Hub.

Harmon kardon 745 displays "unlock" no sound for tv or movies

I also had this UNLOCK message on my Harman Cardon AVR 130.
The reason for this error was - in a hurry I've plugged the optical input into optical OUT! Double check that your connections in the back are correct and hopefully it fixes your problem.

Cheers,
Sergey
