Bought a UHF dish remote that is identical remote to Bell Expressvu. It won't control my Bell receiver. Is there a frequency difference? Any suggestions?

I have provided instructions on programming the remote to your Dynex TV. I have included the codes for your TV. We do not have codes for the Universal remote. You need to contact Phillips to see if they have codes that you can use. I hope this helps.
Address remote to TV:
Remotes: Basic (Television Only)
Turn the Television On.
Press and hold the TV Power button for three seconds until the LED flashes.
Enter the three-digit code using the buttons on the number pad.
Press OK.
Note: The LED will flash three times.
Test functionality with the TV.
Return to Step 2 if the remote is not able to turn the TV On/Off, change the
volume and mute the television.
Hi, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. While looking through all of our remote codes I unfortunately did not find any codes for a Bell ExpressVu receiver. What you can try is running a power scan on your DISH remote which basically can sometimes find the code for you. I will list here for you the instructions for running a power scan after this post. I hope you find these instructions useful and if you have any further questions or concerns feel free to email me at [email protected]. :)
Instructions for a power scan
With the desired equipment on, press and hold the correct Mode button (i.e. SAT, AUX, TV, VCR) until
all mode button back lights illuminate, then release.
Press and release the Power button.
AUX Mode:Before pressing and releasing the Power button
Press 0 for a TV
Press 1 for a VCR/DVD
Press 2 for any other device.
Then Press STAR (*)
Press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the desired
equipment.
Note: If the code for the equipment comes up, the equipment
will power off.
As soon as the desired equipment turns off Press the POUND (#) button.
If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes
three times.
Not all remote are compatible with all our receivers. Depending on the receiver and remote model numbers, if they are compatible you can readdress the remote to the receiver. I have provided a link for readdressing the remote to the receiver. I hope this helps.
Programming an Expressvu remote control can be frustrating. There are two basic ways of doing in it. The first one involves knowing both your TV brand name and also knowing the proper code to input in your remote. The second method is doing an automatic search. The following is a step by step procedure in how to program your dish network or Expressvu remote.
1)Make sure your TV and Satellite Receiver is ON. 2)Press and hold TV button until all lights on the side of it flashes. The TV button is the second button on the Top left hand side corner of the remote control. 3) Release that button, then press & release RED Button. You will notice TV button is stays on. If, it doesn't stay ON, you must repeat step 2 & 3. Otherwise, your batteries are low, you MUST change then. 4)Press and release the UP Arrow Key on the remote until TV turns off. Notice the UP arrow key button is the button below the volume keys (Stop button for VCR.) 5)Make sure you are aiming remote control to TV while pressing and releasing UP arrow key button. When you find the right code, the TV will turn OFF. 6) Immediately after, TV turns off, press # key.
