For past few days, I've no signal problem with my Nokia 3100. I tried my SIM in another phone and the signal was perfect, so it has to do with my mobile.
I saw your solution posted here, but would be great if you can send me the pictures of that as well.

Here is your solution. U need to open it with china screw-driver set. Then put a three fold paper under the two main ICs. CPU and UEM which both are looking same in PCB than tight the screws properly. This is caused by uncertain pressure on PCB. The PCB got bent and signal runs up quickly.
You must change PA(Power Amplifier) IC on your phone.5-6second signal than gone is a sign of PA IC not work any more.You know that PA is an IC where phone use to transmit.I hope it help.
