After a couple of hours of use last week, the motor started slowing down. Turned it off and it would not restart. tried again after an hour and it started but sounded really rough. stopped it and took it apart. aside from being dirty, did not see anything wrong. reassembled and it will not do anything. its not the safety switch. model 51599

Sounds like the motor is worn out. Toro does not sell the motor separate. It is considered a throw away unit.
You will have to purchase a new one.
Sorry.
Good Day.

If you're Toro electric blower is slowing down, throwing sparks, or not starting you may need to replace the carbon brushes. Replacing brushes and cleaning commutator early can prevent damage to motor armature!

Search E-bay for: "Toro Blower Carbon Brush"

- 10.5 Amp leaf blowers Toro Old through Toro New model 51573.

Our Toro, guaranteed to start, won't start. We can cut awhile, then it will not restart. Plug is fine, getting a spark, and not at all wet, can't seem to find the problem. This doesn't...

I have the same problem. One time this happened and it restarted after a few hours and worked fine for 5 more cuts over a couple of months time. Now again it quit mid cut of my yard and would not restart. When trying to start it would fire for a few seconds and than shut off again. I wated a week to try it again and now it does nto fire at all. This is about a year old mower with only about 10-15 hours of total use.

My dryer starts the first time with no problem, but after about an hour it starts to make a kind of buzzing sound. If I don't shut it off at this point it shuts itself off after another minute or two....

You are absolutely correct that the motor is the problem and needs to be replaced. The motor is overheating and its thermal overload protector trips off causing the dryer to shut down. Thermal overload protector resets and allows the motor to run again only when it has cooled down. It is the reason why the dryer is not turning on immediately after it shuts off. Replacing the motor will definitely solve the problem.

Attic fan stops running after one hour

I need to verify you have adaquate air flow, to cool the motor. If you have a window open, and the crawl hole open is there enough air flow into the the attic? It there is enough air flow and it still stops after about an hour, does this unit have a humidistate and a temperature switch on the housing or extension.
If all the switches are working correctly then I could be the motor overloading/heating shutting down and then reseting.
