You may have inadvertently set your range to "Sabbath Mode". The display actually reads "SAB". This is a feature that allows the consumer to disable certain features of the range in order to honor the sabbath. Usually this disables the oven, but allows the consumer to still use the surface burners. You cannot defeat it by unplugging the range or turning off the breaker either. You will either have to wait 72 hours for the mode to clear, or figure out how to turn it off.
To turn the Sabbath Mode on/off for the Maytag model you have listed, you simply press and hold the "Clock" button for 5 seconds. These instructions should be in your owner's manual.
