If Wii gives unreadable disc, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. SOURCE: unable to read disk

There is something wrong with your laser. You should be covered under warranty, send it in for exchange or repair. Here is the Nintendo Repair Center Help Line: 1-800-255-3700

SOURCE: Wii Problems

I called Nintendo. Our Wii was unable to be fixed by troubleshooting by phone. I'm having to send it back to them to repair or replace. They really were helpful and facilitated everything for me. My Wii was bought in 2006 and had no more warranty on it, however, they charged me $75 + $7.50 in shipping to send it back to them. If it can be repaired, they'll send it back to me fixed, however, if not, they'll send me a new one at no extra charge.

My wii says its unable to read disk on all games including new ones what can i do

Hi,

If the Wii is having trouble with a disk, it means there's either a problem with the disk or the Wii.Since that your Wii is having a problem reading al disk there's might be a problem with it. Some older Wii units also have trouble with dual layer discs, which pack more info onto a disk .If your Wii is having trouble reading a dual layer disc you can try Nintendo's Wii lens cleaning kit. If still having an issue better call Nintendo for further Support. You might have a Bad lens on your Wii.

Thanks for reading. Thanks for using Fixya.

To install wii fit

"Unable to read the disc" / "Disc could not be read" / "Eject the Game Disc" Error Message.
If you are getting one of the above error messages:
  • Ensure that you are properly loading a Game Disc. insertdisccorrect.gif
    • If your console is placed vertically, the disc label will face to the right.
    • If your console is placed horizontally, the disc label will face upwards

  • If you know you are inserting the Game Disc correctly, but are still have the same problem with only one game (or if you only have one game), try cleaning the Game Disc by following the disc cleaning procedures

  • If after reading the above information you are still unable to play a game disc, please call 1-800-255-3700 to discuss available options.

Unable to read disc message

Could be a damaged disk (check closely), a bad disk (did it work before) or your lens could be going out (which makes it unable to read the disk). Have you tried putting another disk in to see if you get the same problem?
