ONLY 1 of 2 things can cause this problem----

First thing to do is remove front speaker grill--it should pull out and is secured with plastic pegs--behind it you will find an inspection plate---

Notice the one or two pairs of wires coming from the front keyboardthe power light in the front wont stop blinking - 2.gif of the set---remove the inspection plate and follow the wires to the right--you can unplug both plugs(most have two and they are marked with letters and different sizes so you cannot get them wrong)

The idea here is to remove the front with its reset button etc from the circuit---You will still be able to try to turn the set on with the remote---

These sets have a Receiver that is called a DM board--(large metal box to the left as you look from the back) and if the power goes out the green light will blink for about 70 seconds and then go out---it is the Receiver booting up. It is called the DM board.

If disconnecting the keyboard allows the set to turn on--you have a bad reset switch and two choices---either operate the set only with the remote or to remove the front screen and get at the reset switch (it is tiny) and remove and/or replace it.

If disconnecting the keyboard does not restore the set to operation---the receiver is bad---there are 4 or more caps and some pico fuses that can fail in that unit---Mitsubishi no longer sells or repairs these--if it is bad and not the caps there is a company you can send the unit to and have it repaired--if you need to know their name let me know---

You can call them and get a quote for repairing the receiver. There are also sites on the internet selling a kit for this repair.

SOURCE: Wont turn on and front lights blink

Start by checking the lamp, there's no sure fire way to tell if its the lamp or not.Remove the lamp housing door off the back right side of the tv (if you are looking at the back of the tv, it has one black screw holding it in place. Look inside and you'll see the black and silver metal housing. Then loosen the gold screws on each side of the lamp housing. You'll know you're looking at the right thing because there is a black handle that lets you pull the housing straight out (after loosening the screws, the screws wont come completely out). Take into account the amount of time it has been since you replaced the lamp, 3-4 years seems to be about average. You won't really be able to tell if the lamp is burned out or not by looking at it. Sometimes there is a break in the glass tube inside the bowl, sometimes its a white powder in the small bulb at the bottom of the glass tube. Either way, use the stickers on the housing to get your lamp number and order a bulb. Rivervalleyelectronics.net is a great place to look. I use them all the time. Any osram or philips bulb off ebay will work fine too. Email me directly if you need further assistance. [email protected] Good Luck

SOURCE: please help with tv! green blinking light wont stop and tv wont turn on

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.

SOURCE: TV wont come on

One of the tubes are gone. You need to replace one. The easiest way is to disconnect the board from the tube. power it on and if the correct tube is disconnected, the TV will turn stay on. Research the problem a bit. This is a common problem

My tv wont turn on by power button or remote. white light keep blinking.

How many times this standby/power light blinks at one time switch ON? Count it carefully. These blinks are fault indication, and known as blinking codes. From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON; you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. This will make repair easy. For more information, check the link http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/. If the blinks continues, and non-stop, the fault should be with its main system control IC, and with the memory IC.

Tv wont turn on, the power indicator nor the remote receiver light does not light up, the 3rd circle on the front of the tv blinks red!! But it wont come on regardless, tv is only 2 years old, what to...

The blinking red light means set is in shutdown because of a short inside the tv.

Someone to begin would have to open it and check power supply voltages inside the set....that is the first step.

Wont turn on and lamp has been replaced.

You most likely have to reset the lamp timer. If it gets maxed out it will not turn on till it is reset. Check your manual to see how to reset.

Power went out now the tv wont turn on, there is just a blinking

Does the power light just blink? Some of the Mitsubishi sets have a receiver built into them; if the power is removed the power light upon return of power should blink for 70 seconds and then go out--then the set should turn on---if the light never stops blinking---2 possible things--set should have a recessed button on the front keyboard(reset) that you can depress with something not sharp and see if after 70 seconds the light will stop blinking; if no, the set now has a damaged receiver(from the back of the set it is a large metal box on the far left side-----the blinking power light is the receiver trying to boot up like a computer---only should happen if power lost---let me know what you find----the receiver if bad is usually no longer available and can only be repaired by removing it and sending out for repair/rebuild.

Tv wont turn on get audio then tv shuts off timer lite blinking

If TV stays in stand by with audio but no video, then common faults are the ballast board, or a fault on digital board.

If the led stays blinking , and tv turns off then the TV is on protect mode.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected.

If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Had the same problem. turned out to be the power supply to the DM assembly. Had to put a power supply, board and a new lamp in. Tech said the lamp blew out the power supply and board. I think it's just a lemon.
