Screen is frozen on N97 - keyguard switch not unlocking keys

Keypad lock:

1. To lock the keypad press Menu then Star (*) key.
2. To unlock the keypad press Unlock (Menu key) then Star (*).

1. Make sure that the keys are actually locked. If you attempt to unlock a keypad that is not locked, nothing will happen. Look on the phone's screen for the key icon that indicates the keypad is locked. If you try to press any of the keys and the word "Unlock" appears on the screen, your keypad is definitely locked. If you do not see the indicator but are unable to use the keypad of your Nokia 6085, your battery could be dead, so try recharging it and then see if the keypad works.
2. Enter the unlock sequence. If the key indicator appears on your screen, you need to enter a simple sequence of keys to get the keypad working again. For the Nokia 6085, select Unlock and then quickly press the * key. If you wait more than 1.5 seconds to press the * key after selecting Unlock, it will not unfreeze the keys so make sure you enter the sequence very quickly.
3. Turn off the automatic keyguard. If you are tired of having to unfreeze the keys every time you want to make a call, you can program the Nokia 6085 to always remain unlocked. In the menu, go to Settings, then select Phone, then select Automatic Keyguard and choose Off.

There is no way to turn off the screen saver of Nokia n97 mini. The best thing that you can do is to choose another screen saver that you like.

To modify settings for automatic screen and key locking, select Menu > Settings and Phone > Phone mgmt. > Auto. keyguard.

try another way of unlocking it.or set your automatic keyguard off..

Try updating your phone. This should work. Download the pc suite and plug your phone i etc.

Hi, there are two desktop backgrounds on the China N97, one has the shortcut icons and the other one is a background without the icons, the shortcut icons on the first cannot be removed to the walk around for it is to press and hold the existing background and the dragging the finger to either the left or right of the screen, this should change the background and the shortcut icons must be gone.

Yeah, I recently bought a nokia n97, and already it is freezing. I lock the keypad, and then unlock to try and write a text, nothing. so i lock again and unlock nothing... I do this three or so times before it works:(. My phone was locked when somebody tried to call me, and as the screen was frozen, I could not answer....
HELP ME PLEASE.... I only got the phone about 2 months ago... This happens around 5 times a day.... There is a chip in the screen, could this be the problem? thanks

maybe ur bat is faulty already...
using gps and internet make the bat more fast to empty...

Assuming you're trying to get past the keyguard on the outside screen, simply hit the "Ok" button twice

If you want to turn the keyguard off alltogether, go (using the outside screen, this is a must) to: Ok > Settings&Tools > Keyguard Timer > Always Off > Ok

That should do it.
