The unit came with a dvd that said it was the manual. The dvd won't play in any of my dvd machines. How can I get a manual?

Does it play a cd? If so than the decoder for the dvd portion of the head unit may be bad. I would replace it if that's the case.

check any mechanical failure in the vcr unit. like tape won't work properly might some obstruction or plastic broken.

There are any number of reasons why it won't play. The loading basket is jammed, the video tape has got tangled up in the mechanical section of the vcr or the loading gears are stripped. Unplug machine and remove top, [screws side and back] if the tape is spewed carefully remove by cutting it and clean tape particles, for any other problem have a technician check it out.

Either a mechanism problem or a problem with the Optical unit inside (optical pickup) being dirty or bad.

The first thing to try is to clean the laser itself by using a cleaning disc. If that fails then most likely the pickup laser is no longer any good. This is usually obvious if you place an audio CD in the unit and it plays fine : )

your dvd player wornt play the disk you are playing? Try to consult the region code of the player and the disk you are trying to play make sure they are of the same region..also clean the lens with a cotton buds moistened with an alcohol gently wipe it on the lens.post again if you have further question..

Moisture could have condensed inside the unit.Remove the disc and leave the unit turned onfor about 2 hours until the moisture evaporates.
Also check the region code and the appropriate dvd code to play on it.

I removed the cover,the dvd unit and cleaned the laser lens with alcohal. The two back screws were loose on the dvd unit. It`s working like new again.

you need to set the area in the settings menu.get the manual for it and it explains how to do it.every unit has a different procedure
