I have access to the Lexicon service guys, but will need a bit more info to assist in tracking this down.
1) Have you noticed any pattern to when the unit fails. In other words, does it tend to fail more readily after being on for a while, or is it consistant in behavior regardless of time?
2) Does the volume level of the unit change the total time before failure?
3) If you uinplug the unit for 1/2 and try using it, does the behavior change?
Please update this with the answers and also, if you could post what has already been done by the service center, that would help as well.
At this point, I would be suspicious of hte 5V line and/or the microprocessor internal controls. I'll research this a bit and try to get you more details as well.
Thanks,
Dan

Hey Dan
Thanks so much for the reply. In answer to your questions
1. It fails when on for fifteen minutes. Then if the unit is switched off
it will turn itself back on and go into 'standby' mode and then flash the lexicon logo and then freeze.
2. Yep, see above. The only way to turn the machine off or to restart is to switch off the main power at the back of the unit. Then as explained above, it will only run for about 15 before freezing.
The only thing done by the service centre was the first time they sent it back saying nothing was wrong. Second time they updated the software. Third time they replaced the power supply.
Thanks again.
Sorry Dan, tried to respond before but I think it got swallowed in cyberspace.
In answer to your question
1. It's after about 15 minutes of use it freezes. The only way to turn it off it to switch off power at back of unit.
If the unit hasn't frozen and I switch it off manually at the front of the unit or with the remote, it will wait 10 minutes then turn itself back on - and then promptly freeze.
2. See above ;)
The unit was sent back 3 times.
1st time they said there was nothing wrong with it
2nd time they updated the software
3rd time they replaced the power supply and told me it was a favour as
it was 'out of warranty'. The machine has done this since 2005.
At the moment I have the most expensive amplifier I've ever heard of that has since day one been a lemon.
Any help appreciated.
