I have an 8gb Ultra Speed USB drive with these problems: 1. I am not able to copy or delete any files/folders to it (or) from it. It alerts that the disk cannot be written to because it is write protected. 2. I'm not able to format it also. . It alerts that the disk cannot be written to because it is write protected. 3. Sometimes I?m allowed to cut/copy/delete/format it after trying so many times. So trying and waiting for the action. 4. I?m able to make a new folder and rename also. But not able to delete it. Very interesting that automatically a file (namely- USBC╚δ╬ä.; USBC╚3╔ä.; USBChñä.:USBC≡ßë.....etc...) is being created inside the folder immediately upon creation which is showing a huge size around 1.98GB to 3.36GB, but the actual size is not being occupied if I check its properties. 5. It is also slowly deleting my music files. What can i do to resolve this. Thanks

SOURCE: Transcend 16GB Pendrive - error while copying

If your drive is partitioned with FAT32 then it cannot copy larger files. You have to format it using NTFS.

SOURCE: I am having Jetflash v10 16 gb model 'Transcend' USB Flash Drive.

Try formatting the drive using NTFS and re -copy your stuffs again. If it fails to copy as you want, then delete the partition and format it again .

Repeated use

in the settings for back ups you can select files and folders to back up
the back up timing can be set from immediate to hourly , daily weekly even momthly
some back up systems copy and others copy and replace so ask around what your back up is going to be
My back up does everything every week and backs up onto a 1tb external hard drive
you should get an alert that reads something like-- unable to do back up because of insufficient space
or the same message if you try to download something onto a usb stick that is not big enough for the down load

Copied files to a folder on portable harddrive

1. Try creating another folder and coping the content from the original to the new folder on the USB drive.
You may have stopped the coping process inadvertently during the copy process.

I purchased a memorex 160GB traveldrive. I would

Things to ponder before deleting

Rather then deleting them right away, try moving the "day the files were uploaded" to another drive. Then try accessing the files on your memorex. Do the files and folders open properly? There not corrupt? Has the memorex hdd drive recreated the folder you just moved? etc...

Once your satisfied that yes there are two copies then you could safely remove one.

I emptied the cruzer 8Gb by deleting the files.

Reformat the drive. Plug it into the Windows computer, and right click on it in the My Computer folder. Select properties, and you can reformat from there.
